Fronted by Chris Nelson.
Cagewriter reports that the WEC's first trip to the American Bank Center Arena in Corpus Christi, TX, generated $297,990 at the gate with 6,100 attendees.
Fight Night Bonuses and Awards
Fight of the Night: Johny Hendricks vs. Alex Serdyukov -- (Unanimous decision for Hendricks)
Knockout of the Night: Damacio Page -- (KO, Punches, 0:18 of Round 1)
Submission of the Night: Mike Brown -- (Arm Triangle Choke, 1:57 of Round 1)
Notes:
- Each fighter gets a $7,500 bonus on top of their base salaries.
- Mike Brown's arm triangle choke on Leonard Garcia was the only submission in the card.
- Marcos Galvao had to leave on a stretcher after being brutally KOed by Damacio Page. Despite looking seriously hurt after the KO, MMA Insider reports that Galvao is okay. He was given a CAT scan after the fight, and since the results came out negative, he was released even before the post fight press conference ended.

With the exception of the Hicks vs Razor Rob fight the WEC delivered again. Hope Galvao is ok as he took some brutal shots.

the more i see of Mike Brown, the more i think the win over Faber was not a fluke.

You don’t say?
Many people already considered Brown to be better than Faber, before he beat him the first time. The reason? Mike Brown is one of the Biggest and Most Skilled FW’s all over the world. Your not going to be stronger than him and he trains with ATT.

i’d never heard of Brown before the Faber fight — not ashamed to admit my ignorance. but last night … hoo. he was on another freakin’ level. i’m firmly on the bandwagon now.

That arena can supposedly hold about 10,000. I wonder how many tickets were comps?

There is nobody in the WEC that can hang with Mike Brown right now. I have never seen Garcia dominated like that.
Man among boys.

I can’t wait for the re-match to be honest. I think Faber comes back crisp and ready. The thing about Faber is how versatile he is. He’ll potentially come in and have something ready to counter-act Mike’s strengths.
Another plus about Mike, his words after the bout were respectful and entertaining.

Im curious to see how the rematch unfolds too..
will brown use his size advantage more? will faber have a better game plan? i dont know.. If faber loses again, he should drop to bantam, get a couple of fights in, then have him fight miguel torres.
