Dan Hardy: My fight with Davis is going to be a war!

Star-divide

From an interview we just did with him:

The fight with Davis is set for June, but the war-of-words has already begun. In a recent response to when you called him out during the post-UFC 95 presser, Davis said "I will pound his face into dust," and also went so far as to say that you won’t stand and trade with him. Care to comment?

At about the 60 second mark, he will realize that I have every range covered and the fight is going too fast for him to keep up with. After that, it’s only a matter of time before my hand is raised. He can say what he likes about me, I get the feeling that he is trying to convince himself he can win. If that’s what he needs to do to give me a good fight, then so be it. This fight was asked for by the fans and I’m just happy to be able to give them what they want.

....

My fight with Davis is going to be a war!

Without giving too much away, what type of fighter would present the most challenging fight for you.

I don’t know, maybe someone that is a strong wrestler or grappler. I feel I can deal with the strikers in my division, the grapplers will need a little extra attention. Maybe [Dustin] Hazelett or [Josh] Koscheck would be a tough challenge, but if I didn’t like a challenge, I would be in the wrong business!

He also discusses how he deals with the pressure of being one of the UFC’s top UK prospects, his best story every, Rich Franklin vs Wanderlei Silva, GSP vs Alves, thoughts on the whole GSP/Vaseline controversy, Ricky Gervais, and much more.

And it wasn’t close either.

Continuing with my “Hardy looks like Shia Lebouf”…

Did somebody say war?

If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.

Rec'd lol!!!

How embarrasing. If I was Lytle I woulda called him out on that little sprint.

If I was Davis I would just then point to the fight result.

A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.

I like “I’m gonna kick your ass” better than “Lets keep this standing.”

I don’t understand the recent push the UFC has been giving Hardy to make it seem like he has a chance at contending for the ww title. Yes I realize they need to have English guys to draw for their shows in the U.K, but what are they going to do if he gets past Davis (which i doubt) line up a few tough but beatable guys and have him rack up a nice undefeated run just so he can get a #1 contenders match to headline a U.K show and get totally outclassed in front of his home crowd? Seriously does anyone give him more than a punchers chance against Koshcheck,Fitch,Alves,Karo,Kim,GSP,or even Hughes? I think he’ll have his hands full with Davis and would be lucky to get passed the b level fighters in the division (Swick,Saunders,Lytle,Johnson,or rematch Yoshida). In my opinion the guys def not a top 10 WW even in the UFC nevertheless the world! I just named 12 guys that would shock me if he was able to beat 2 or 3 of them.

i think he can take hughes and kim..

emphasis on can.. he’d be the underdog, but i think it’s not as impossible as you think..

He’s got some HEAVY hands… He just makes for a good fight, his ground game needs some work in the sense he isn’t going to put much offense on people, but I think he knows enough to defend himself and stand up and drop bombs for fists.
