Tyson Griffin Promoted to Televised Card at UFN 18
When the UFN 18 card was announced, there were some hackles raised over the bout order, particularly regarding the relegation of the Tyson Griffin/Rafael Dos Anjos bout to the preliminary card, while TUF alums like Junie Browning were scheduled to fight on the televised card.
Now, with the recent news that TUF 8 lightweight champion Efrain Escudero will be dropping out of his bout with Jeremy Stephens at UFN18, and replaced by Gleison Tibau, MMA Junkie is reporting that the Griffin-Dos Anjos fight is being bumped up to the televised card, while Stephens-Tibau may potentially be moved to the prelim card:
A UFC Fight Night 18 bout between Tyson Griffin (12-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and Rafael dos Anjos (11-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) originally scheduled for the night's preliminary card will instead likely be promoted to the night's televised main card.
A source close to the bout today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the fight will likely air on the Spike TV portion of the card.
Although not definite, a bout between Jeremy Stephens and Gleison Tibau, who was a late replacement for "The Ultimate Fighter 8" winner Efrain Escudero, could be demoted to the preliminary card.
Good news for Tyson Griffin fans, but I think Stephens-Tibau deserves to be on the main card as well. Maybe Spike can squeeze five fights in?

They were really gonna have Efrain vs Stephans on the main card?
PUKE And even more laughable… once the TUFer is off, the fight with Tibau in his place isn’t worthy of televised coverage.
Good stuff.
