An upcoming Joe Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig matchup was reported by Mauro Renallo during the PPV broadcast of XMMA 7 this weekend. No specific UFC event was mentioned. Mauro called it a "loser leaves town" match.

…on a related note, check out XMMA 7 if you can. It was a really good, exciting event despite only having aired four fights. Kind of like a Canadian WEC.
They aired more than the four fights – those were just the only ones crackshack capped.
I agree though, very solid show. I’ll be watching out for the next one.

Disilets with the “smell my butt” TKO/Submission was the TSN Turning Point of the night if you ask me

I was partial to the Steve Claveau vignette.

damn
that’s pretty heartless matchmaking for two TUF winners. Stevenson put on a very game showing against Diego and I really think he’s popular enough to get a rebuilding match. Same thing with Danzig. Oh well, its a tough sport.

Assuming the Loser-Leaves-Town rumor is true, will this be the first TUF winner to get the boot?

Forgot about him – he’s a bit of a special case, I guess, because he didn’t have a losing streak as much as generally screw himself over and sat out an entire year, whereas most TUF winners get as much publicity as possible. There wasn’t as much invested in him as Joe or Mac, so he wasn’t a big loss for the UFC.

Well, I hope Stevenson wins in a way that makes Danzig’s release more likely.

Crap, I was pulling for Stevenson to get Guida. Woulda been a good match.

Guida mentioned he was going to get Pellegrino or Lauzon next, but with Lauzon’s injury keeping him out for more than a year, it will likely be Guida vs. Pellegrino this summer.
I love Guida, but he got popular almost 2 years ago, and he hasn’t changed his game yet. Would it be too much to ask he learn a submission or get some GnP power so we can hear something other than “Winner by split decision”?

I don’t like either of those fights. I would have rather seen him get crushed by Sanchez.

That would be fine, too.
