Andrei Arlovski debut in Boxing.
Here is some interest tidbit from Dan Rafael insider chat.
"David (CA): arlovski is on the under card of williams vs wright, right?
Dan Rafael: (12:15 PM ET ) Yes."
Joel (NY): Will Arlovski's debut fight be televised you think dan?
Dan Rafael: (12:21 PM ET ) No, it won't be part of HBO's broadcast.
He will most likely face a tomato can but given the sad state of the heavyweight division which used to be the glory division( which is now the welterweight division) of boxing perhaps Andrei can make a mark on boxing. He is considered one of the best strikers in the MMA world and according to top trainer Freddy Roach has the technical skills to excel in the sport. It will also be interesting if HBO mentions it given that Golden Boy's involvement with Affliction.

Why on earth wouldn’t they put him on the HBO broadcast?
This card is on April 11, btw.

Because...
the HBO broadcast will only have 2 fights on it and as such they’re going to give the air time to the bigger name (in boxing) and bigger money fighters

Also..
the fights that will see air were guaranteed air time way back when the card was first put together.

They wouldn’t show him but at least a mention would be nice. There is always a chance that there would be an early knockout and have some time to fill. HBO sometimes puts highlights of prospect at the end of the show.

It's not too often..
and due to the odd situations with boxing promoters they also tend to refrain from showing earlier action. More times than not (and you’re a fan and have seen it plenty I’m sure) they’ll have the crew talk for 10-15 minutes and then cut out early to some original programming or another rather than show the fights. Which has always been pretty dumb…but whatever.

Yeah… one can only hope that we get some highlights. I am going to try and find a stream of the undercard and see how he does. He has one thing going for him and that is one punch knockout power and that can overcome alot of shortcomings in both MMA and in boxing. We will also see how his chin reacts to being punched with a bit more regularity granted with 10 ounce gloves.

I believe HW's
use 12 oz gloves. I could be wrong though. I know a little over a year ago I think it was as low as 130 they moved up to 10 oz gloves. Roach threw a fit about it because now what might have previously finished a guy will turn into sustained punishment and a longer duration of brain trauma.

I don't know maybe I'm tripping or using amatuer rules
Then again it could be i’m thinking this cause different athletic commissions have different glove rules… Somebody set me straight on this one.

I am pretty sure professional boxing uses 8 and 10 ounce gloves. At welterweight( 147 lbs) and below depending on where the fight is held and what organization sanctions the fight, fighters are allowed use 8 ounce gloves.

Well I found the WBA rules
They are 10 ounces at HW. But I know in Nevada they are requiring 10 oz gloves for lighter fighters now. I just remember the shit fit that Freddie Roach threw about it.

I seem to remember he was threating that his fighters would no longer fight in Nevada
or something along those lines. I don’t think anything ever came of that.

Well it was nice knowing you AA, I was one of your biggest fans but I can’t with a straight face root for you anymore after you let your agents get in your ears and ruin your MMA career.

So your problem...
is that he chose to explore other potential careers and if you’re not MMA til death you’re not worth being supported?

If he's fought his last fight with Affliction
Boxing will give him bigger paydays than he will ever get in MMA again. Don’t hate on a man makin money
