So the plan was to get both titles and retire?

What’s all this championship clause stuff then? Could he even do that?

It’s actually pretty selfish and outrageous that his goal was to take two titles and retire. And yes, he could have done it.

Yup, as I said b4.

Sounds like something BJ woud do. Defeat GSP, capture both belts, retire, get into UFC Hall of Fame and have your ego stroked for all eternity.

I’m just glad it didn’t go down like that.

BJ does what BJ wants to do.

Regardless of what it means to anyone else.

But that’s a huge loss, not the he was expected to win, but with all the hype, it’s hard to digest.

Yeah even though I was pulling for GSP I wanted to see a more competative fight. Instead we got an annihilation . IMO Penn didn’t seem right since the night of the conference. Who knows, maybe he put too much pressure on himself.

I was thinking the same thing as he was walking to the octagon – he just didn’t seem like himself.

It seemed

As if Penn and his camp believed his own hype so much he didn’t even have to fight!

all you gotta do is...

At what weight?

Keep in mind, he might just be talking about his last fight at 170.

The interview sounded a lot more like “well if things don’t go my way I’m taking my ball and going home”
