Some great action was seen the other night and forgive the late posting. Been on the road.
Interesting things to note: Lombard demonstrated some new-found wrestling skills from ATT. He picked up Verdadero in huge suplex and slammed him like a rag doll. Coupled with Lombard's size and strength he is going to be dominating this weight class for as long as he wants in Australia. Be interesting to see how he goes in the USA or Japan.
It got ugly with the Light Weight championship fight. A KO that didn't look like a KO from my angle, some corner men waving their arms and a ref saying 'flash KO' but a web-page saying TKO... does anyone else smell rematch?
Richie Vas has a huge right hand. Opponent was down within 15 seconds. Like to see if he can fight or if it was a fluke. But yeah, huge over-hand right.
While Leven looked at home on the ground Johnson looked bad. I know Johnson's thing is kickboxing but he gave up his back twice in the first round. Someone please send him to BJJ class soon.
Lucas Browne is a beast. Big guy that works well in clinch and seems to have a good clue about the ground game. Message to other fighters: Browne will spike you to get out of an armbar. If it works, Browne is going to be dropping some bombs on your head.
The show was to a good standard, great crowd good venue. As usual, little time between the fights and all but one of the fights even made the third round.
Keep you posted on their next event.

Awesome, thanks for the report.
I’m assuming they tape these. Are they aired locally or released on DVD or anything?
btw Hector Lombard is gonna be in Bellator’s middleweight tournament, don’t think they’ve announced his first fight yet but probably April or May.

yeah, check out CFC’s homepage for the DVD: http://www.cfcworld.com.au/dvdsales.php
for the details of how to buy them if you want.
CFC is aired locally on cable TV – Fuel TV (fox channel 516).
production value (on TV) – lighting, camera angles, fighting standard are all ok but the commentators are downright horrible (they cant tell the difference between a double or a single leg). watching it live is the go.
Not sure of Hector’s status anymore – he trains in the US now with ATT and yeah i did hear he was signed with bellator but Hector was meant to fight Karo in the UFC before everybody realised he was cuban and couldn’t get a working visa. Then he was going to fight in XC before the rug got pulled out from everyone last year.
He’s got our full support in Australia but basically we’ve had so many false starts with him fighting overseas it’s hard to take the next one seriously until he steps in the cage.

"world" title fight?
Come on. You’re regional. Embrace it.
Let’s not be boxing,
If you see Mark Coleman in person, drop $5 on the floor and watch the fun as he tries in vain to bend down and pick it up.

Would you prefer “intercontinental championship”?

I'd prefer 'Australian'
or ‘Pacific’.

regional sure - however still international.
hector (born in cuba) fought a Hawaiian for a title this time around.
rob hill (born in Oz) fought a a guy from brazil for the title..
give the fighters some props.

Okay then.
I’ll sign a Brazilian guy up for my recreational softball team so we can claim we won the ‘world’ recreational softball title last year. Would that work?
You can’t claim a word title unless you’re one of the two or three biggest organizations around, IMO. If a promotion in Saskatoon called their best guy a world champ because he fought someone from Bulgaria, wouldn’t it look a bit odd?
