Troy Mandaloniz Released From his UFC Contract
"I thought I showed them what I was made of, but I guess not. I don’t think I see too many other fighters out there fighting with the same passion and intensity that I bring. I’m a fighter that people want to see fight and maybe one day after I prove myself again I could be back in the UFC."Too bad we didn't get to see his fight against Paul Kelly because people who have are calling it the true fight of the night.

Not surprised in the least...
Its gotten to the point where if you don’t produce right away, you’re gonna be let go and someone else is going to get a shot. Him being in the UFC in the first place will give him some ability to shine in local and mid level shows. Get better and then if you’re good enough…. maybe they’ll bring you back. If you are gonna open your mouth like this guy did to Paul Kelly prior to the match and not deliver the goods… you’re digging your own grave.
I’m sure T Shirt guy will give him a look and there is Japan. I don’t see this guy in Strikeforce, Scott Coker has to set some standards now…. can’t just let every UFC reject in.

You know for a fact that that’s not true – and Mandaloniz, for all his faults, does put on a show.

Coker can and will let in every UFC reject.

Lets see how Jorge Gurgel does...
Something tells me that if Jorge Gurgel is a bust… Coker is going to be a lil more picky of who he lets in and won’t take every fighter that the UFC lets go.

You just lost to a lightweight that recently got demolished by Davis. Yes, you showed us that you can block a punch and an elbow with your head. You haven`t showed us that you can win.

Really? Maybe family, friends and peeps in Hawaii but thats about it…
UFC: Win or go Home!
Unless…you’re an exciting badass looking dude like Alexander Houston. :P

It really was a very one sided beating, the most damage Kelly took was his elbow bruising from connecting with Rude Boy’s head.
I don’t think I’d consider it anywhere near FOTN for 95, Mandaloniz showed he has heart but little else really.

Rude Boy apparently learned he had been cut via email (sure it wasn’t a text message to someone else in the camp?), which seems kind of cold. They couldn’t even pick up the phone and call him?
Maybe dropping fighters from the UFC is like breaking up. If they’ve only fought twice for you, an email is fine. If they’ve been around a little longer, you gotta call. And if it’s an ex-champion who’s put in years of service, you take them out to a mediocre Mexican restaurant and break the news over appetizers, then let them have just one more go-round in the bathroom for old times’ sake.
Of course, if they’ve only had one fight? Like poor Josh Hendricks? Then you can inform them via a post on their Facebook page. Right before changing your status to "Accepting heavyweight applications."

I do think the UFC has spots for exciting fighters that lose on occasion. However, taking a beating isn’t that exciting and you also need some wins to accompany the occasional loss.
If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.

Did all of you watch the fight?
I actually thought he looked pretty good in places. He’s certainly got talent. It’s almost like watching a BJ Penn impersonation with some of the head movement and how he reacts in certain situations, though in this case a BJ Penn UFC 94 impression in a few other ways.
I would have liked to see him stay for sure.

A while back, while he was on TUF, I talked to him about reffing and fighting. He said that the AC’s state side won’t let you do both in the same licencing year. So he picked fighting and went on TUF. After losing the show and it being such a weak show with the winner, Danzig, dropping weight classes and not fairing that well, I figured Troy wouldn’t last that long. He lasted a LOT longer then a lot of guys. He has a lot of guts. He can keep fighting or pick back up on reffing. He is one of those guys that even though he is not at the top of the division, he is great to talk to. Really nice guy.
