Carwin knows wrestling but I know BJJ. Where wrestling finishes, BJJ starts.

From what I have seen, BJJ finishes more often than wrestling ;)

Carwin is going to beat

Gonzaga badly. I’m almost hoping he doesn’t since it would probably motivate Shane to become a more complete fighter, but really..don’t bet against Carwin until he shows some sort of chink in the armor…

I was making a joke…this would have been better: “Generally BJJ finishes what wrestling starts, takedown → guard pass → submission”

A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.

He did show a chink in his armor against Wain: his striking defense and sense of range was a little lacking. He took a couple shots that really shouldn’t have hit him and if I remember correctly one shot that had a bit of pepper on it.

It ain’t a huge chink, but it was noticeable.

Gonzaga is certainly no buffoon in the striking game,

and range will definitely be a factor against Carwin. You get in his wheelhouse, and you’re gonna get hulk-smashed.

Too bad I haven’t been able to see much footage of Carwin.

I’m looking forward to this fight……has Carwin ever really been tested?

Neil Wain was a test of how much beating a man could take.

Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.

I think Carwin is capable of beating Gonzaga. However, the only thing that worries me is that Carwin is still working a FULL time job while training. I don’t know if he can continue his success up the HW ladder while doing that.

Has Carwin taken a real punch yet? We know Gonzaga wilts when fists touch his face, but does the same thing hold true for Carwin?

Gotta love how myths about fighters start, someone says it and then everyone jumps on it regardless of whether there is any fact in it. Gonzaga should maul Carwin who has never faced the kind of opponent that Gabe is, this should end in another devestating TKO by Napao and another title shot.

just like how Gonzaga dealt with Couture's wrestling right? hahaha.

I think if Carwin watches the randy/gonzaga fight and tries to employ a similar gameplan, he would take this fight easily.
