I really just want to be the Megumi Fujii level winner. Any higher and I’ve overshot :-)

when does the new season start? it says when the new season starts, everyone starts off with $1000 again. does the money from this season carry over?

by bdw on Feb 22, 2009 1:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I believe the new season starts in June and the money doesn’t carry over.

Not only...

did I tank on my wagers…I totally forgot to submit any picks so I didn’t get any “prediction bonus” on top of losing money on my bets. A fine showing for me

You’ll never be on the leaderboard with that kind of attitude.

Fucking Struve and Markham jacked me up but I got a prediction bonus and I made money on the Kos fight. I am barely treading water over there @ mmaplayground.

LOL

Baud bet Thiago, wow… just wow. My parlay on the fantasy side would have gotten close to that 7 grand, but… well done sir, well done.

Damn Baudy, you really brought it. And you have brass ones for that Thiago bet. Brass ones.

Not a bad night...

My parlay ended up turning out alright and the small amount of $ I threw on the underdogs (Thiago and Ciesnolevicz) made up for most of my $55 in losses.

I had a feeling Koscheck was going to do shitty after I saw DW’s Vlog. When he said hello to Dana in the hallway he looked like he was sick or the weight cut was kicking his ass. I don’t think anyone in the world saw that KO coming though.. not even the people who threw 100+ down on him. lol.

by virginiatech on Feb 22, 2009 12:32 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yea I’ll be honest…I thought Thiago was going to submit Kos not KO him

So yeah 25 and $-68…. score.

Awful night – and I still make over $100 and tied for 10th in picks. I’ll take it.

by subo on Feb 22, 2009 1:12 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I thought it was cumulative – I made over $900 last night

I actually had

Ciesnolevicz by submission at first.. but I changed it for some odd reason. Bollocks.

Parlay

I don’t understand how the parlay thing works. What is it exactly?

by Wookalarman on Feb 22, 2009 1:53 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Pick up to 3 fights… put some money in the parley section and see what you can win. It’s just betting a string of fights, they all win, you win, If any of them lose… you lose.

by Nick Thomas on Feb 22, 2009 2:07 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i did horrible man….i only got two of my picks right and i lost 1200bucks on that event….next event im gettin back to being conservative!!!

by baldspot23 on Feb 22, 2009 2:10 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Thats not a big surprise. Bet on a bunch of underdogs, increase your chances of losing very, very badly.

by Michaelthebox on Feb 22, 2009 4:50 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Uh yeah

betting on 5 underdogs..

yea i had read alot about cobb being the pfc champ…so thought he was good…i saw that neil grove was a huge heavyweight (263) and Ciesnolevicz was a natural 205lb so thought that was a good bet….i just like chael sonnen what can i say….Stefan Struve is a huge heavyweight 6’11…and he was quoted before the fight as saying he didnt think the ufc’s heavyeweights were that good so i thought maybe he would back it up….yea it was just a bad nite for me….at least the fights were all very entertaining….a lot of knockouts

Is this a fantasy league, or are you guys betting real money?

by J_Maddux on Feb 22, 2009 3:55 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Fantasy league.

Just a little tip for everyone: if you already have an account with MMA Playground, don’t try to start a new one using your BE name. I tried to do that and, let me tell you, it did not go well. The first time I tried to log in to my new account, it told me it was deleted. After emailing the admin, I got an incredibly hostile email response from Benjamin Dowdle (the admin, I guess) accusing me of cheating and lying about not knowing it was against the rules to open another account. I asked if I could just change my login name from the old account (which had only been used a handful of times) but, since he was convinced I am some sort of fantasy-MMA scam artist, his response was in the negative.

So, word to the wise, don’t try to open a new account with MMA Playground.

Hey Lucas2, are you still not able to log in? Give me the user name of your old and new account and I’ll talk to one of the admins for you.

by Nick Thomas on Feb 22, 2009 8:53 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I appreciate it Nick. Good luck though. Judging by the email exchange I had with Benjamin Dowdle, I’d be willing to bet there are all sorts of red flags associated with my account now. Regardless, here’s the accounts:

old account: holden636
new account: Lucas2

Secondary League. It’s on a different tab.

by Nick Thomas on Feb 22, 2009 11:10 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i may not have won, but im happy cause im doing pretty well with my bets.. Im up $992 this event and $450+? on the last..

Im really considering betting real money but dividing everything by 10. i cant afford to bet 1000 so max is 100 in real money for me… That’s the plan, but i got kinda turned off with the -$40 in betUS, so im not sure if i can go through with betting real money..

so nick, were doing the wec events too? is that part of the season also? (sorry, i still kinda dont get how some of the things on that site work haha.)

Yeah we’ll be doing WEC 39, you can do your picks for it in the Secondary league. It’s a different tab at the top of the site.
