BloodyElbow, UFC 95 and You: A Warning

Here at BloodyElbow we've always been most proud of the interactive community aspect of our site. We have great regular cast of readers/commenters that is growing every day. The mechanics of this site allow for some very unique things like our live updating comment threads for fight broadcasts.
Because of this we think that our best way to handle tomorrow's tape delayed UFC 95 show is to provide commentary and results as the Spike TV broadcast airs rather than provide results post-event earlier in the day. So I'll be here providing commentary and taking part in our usual open discussion as the fights air on Spike to best take advantage of what our site can do.
This being said, we will absolutely NOT tolerate any spoilers being posted here on BloodyElbow at any point in the day. This post will be at or near the top of the page all day so there is no excuse that you "didn't know" not to post results prior to the broadcast and doing so will result in an immediate lifetime ban from the site.
Again, we're doing this because this site is at its best when we're able to fully utilize our format and allow for the community to come together and discuss major events as they are broadcast. Any site can give you early results, only BloodyElbow can give you what we do.

For people worried about getting spoiled…stay off the fahkin’ internet for a day. Go see Slumdog Millionaire. Get some goddamned culture in your life.

I get my culture by watching a Brazilian punch a British guy in the face.
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
Good movie.
I will play my game beneath the spin light.

TBH I saw slumdog millionaire tonight and i thought it was a contrived piece of crap, a romantic story woven in over a cheap reality TV plot, the “answers” to the answers was interesting, but overall it was predictable & not that great.
I applaud the child actors for being very good, but their adult correspondents were awful.
The story and acting alone wasn’t what made it great, it was the combination of a fairly interesting modern day fairy tale (note fairy tale, not drama), the biting critique of India’s cast system, the unfairness of its governments, the contrast of hyper growth India VS the extreme poverty that it prefer to hide away, and the quaint Americanism seeping into this ancient society unsure of what it wants to do as a democratic nation in the 21st century.
So yeah, had you watched it for its story alone, I can see why you missed what’s so great about it.
I heart Cock Chestnar
Why promote drivel like that, when Friday the 13th is in theatres??
If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.
You seem sarcastic, but I enjoyed it. And if anyone hasn’t seen The Wrestler, what the fuck are you doing reading this?? Grab your keys!!
"I hit [Evensen], and you could just see it in his head. He went, 'Oh, man. We don't have to do this anymore. I'm good. Thanks for having me. I'm going to go home now." -Pat "The Real Techno Viking" Berry
In Canada and the UK they are airing it live. Very discrimarcacialist of Bloodyelbow to not accommodate these poor folks IMO
Eh, piss on those Commies and their socialized medicine. I’ll take my medicine when I’m responsible enough to afford it, damnit. Where are my monster truck keys? I need a fried turkey.

Brentj-itsu:
A method of self-defence established in Japan emphasizing "brent" (soft or gentle) "jitsu" (art or technique). Japanese martial art that utilizes a large variety of techniques in defense against an opponent
Also synonymous with getting banned for a lifetime from blogging for fucking up UFC 95 with spoilers.
I don’t get it….so you’re going to report the results right away, but people can’t comment on the results? What’s the point?

No...
we’re not providing results at any point until the broadcast. And our readers are also NOT allowed to post results before the show.

I like this
I was just telling my old lady I’m not gonna be able to check my fave MMA sites all day so I can watch the card without knowing who won, glad to know I won’t have to worry about it with BE, thanks Brent.
And by the way, I plan on retaining my belt for this event so good luck fighitng for second place guys.
I’m glad I have work today so I don’t have to worry about being spoiled.
I tried so hard not to find out what happned during Hendo/Franklin because I was going to a hockey game that night and was going to order a replay the next day. I walked into a bar to have a drink, and they ordered the live PPV and they were announcing the decision as I walked in. No such drama today.
I do as well, but the biggest problem is putting the results in the headline or front page portion of the article. It would be nice to visit a site and not see the results unless you choose to open the article.
If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.
But you know there is an event & you know you gonna get spoiled, no? I live in france so events happen when I sleep, so I usually see the fights when the results are already out. I can be spoiled all the time, I’ve been spoiled once but that was my fault, as I casually clicked on my bookmark and saw that seth petruzelli KTFO kimbo slice. I wasted one good wtf moment.
BTW - THANKS
for trying to keep spoilers down on this site. The doggie site just loves to spoil stuff. I recall when IFL was around I watched on TV each week and really liked it. Logged into see the days news and got something to the effect of…
SIlverbacks win in sweep in finals.
UGH!!!!!
Just hours after the show was over. They could have at least not made it the headline.
The one that pissed me off:
Gonzaga shocks Cro Cop.
Fucking Sherdog.

Ummm no I don't
In the event I tape a sports event I do everything to avoid the score until I get home to watch.
Theres a big difference between thought and habit, and I went onto there to see a fighter’s record, not see the results of the big fight.

What about this scenario:
There is some kind of breaking news that spoils the outcome of a fight . do you pick up the story even though it spoils that particular fight?
"Stop smiling you are about to be punched in the face !"
I don’t know how the rest of the staff feels about this, but I’ll go ahead and break the news: Diego Sanchez was found unconscious in his London hotel room this afternoon from an apparent Stevia overdose.

aah
I intentionally avoided this site because last time a fight from the UK it didn’t stop the spoilers. Glad to see it getting better :)
