"I really want to apologize to the MFC and to Nick Thompson for missing weight," Daley said. "I don’t know why; I hope I’m not making this a habit."

Yikes...
he missed weight for his last MFC fight also. I like me some Semtex…but this is troubling.

My understanding is that theres a “grace” lb…for all fights. I could be completely wrong.

Correct...
I don’t know if the rule is different in Canada. But in the states you have to nail it on the pound for title fights.

This isn’t a title fight. The main event on the card (Ryan Ford vs. Pat Healy) is for the MFC WW belt.

I know, and Ford came in at 171. Whats the deal? I tried looking up the AC up there, but I couldn’t find it.
I heard that 171 was his initial weight; he got the extra pound off an hour later. But I could be mistaken.

20 Hour Flight?
LOL where was he the flying from?
Where he was flying to
is more important. Weather isn’t great in Canada this time of year so I’d expect a ton of delays etc.

I’ll go ahead and apologize up front for that.
If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.

Naw, we need some ridiculousness around here from time to time (and War Machine just isn’t cutting it anymore).

Does this mean I have to get beat up at the local gay bar tonight, lol?
Coincidentally, there is a gay bar right by my academy and I have seen several fights in passing by on my way home. Pretty interesting stuff. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Only if you work there, apparently. Otherwise you have to choke out someone in front of your house and then defend yourself on the assault charge by saying a choke is just “a nap”.

That 20 Hour Flight
Had to be the issue with his ground game also. I’d like to take a 20 hour flight but no airlines offer that, unless your connecting 5 times.
That’s not exactly hard to imagine if you’re flying to Edmonton. Every time I’ve flown to England there were multiple connections to be made. Edmoton to Calgary, wait, go through customs, switch planes, Calgary to Chicago, wait, Chicago to England, more customs, etc. 20 hrs isn’t unreasonable for a trek like that.
The River Cree Athletic Commission (the MFC takes place at the casino on their reserve) only allows one attempt to make weight IIRC. You cannot miss weight, cut some more, and then weigh in again. This would seem to slightly make Daley look slightly better (although he should know the rules) and confirm that there is a 1 lb grace for title fights under their rules.
