Another MMA Weekend: Three (or Four) Cards in 36 Hours
Less than two months deep, 2009 has already been, mildly put, a busy year for MMA: the twin New Year salvos from DREAM and Sengoku, Affliction's heavyweight second show, a WEC, countless local shows and, of course, War Gods. After this Saturday, the UFC alone will have held four events in three countries over 36 days. We used to be thankful to pay for four UFCs per year.
It should be stated upfront that neither BloodyElbow.com nor its staff condones piracy, copyright infringement, illegal streaming or any of that jazz. But if you're an MMA fan with (a) the greatest satellite package ever, or (b) unscrupulous morals - and (c) few social obligations - you've got another busy weekend ahead of you.

Unfortunately, the K-1 World MAX 2009 Japan Tournament, which begins in Kanagawa, Japan, around 3 AM ET on Sunday morning won't be broadcast live on HDNet, but will air on a delay next Friday, February 27 at 10:00 PM ET. Aside from the 8-man tournament - the winner of which becomes the first qualifier for the year-end K-1 World MAX GP - the card includes a superfight between Yoshihiro Sato and Sergey Golyaev (the man who "beat" Takanori Gomi) plus Buakaw Por Pramuk against Andre "Dida" Amade. It will, however, be broadcast live in Japan and Korea, and therefore presumably available on the interwebs.
CORRECTION: According to Nightmare Of Battle, "visa issues" will prevent Andre "Dida" Amade from participating in the K-1 MAX event. Amade will now face Buakaw Por Pramuk on April 21 at the K-1 World Max 2009 Seoul Tournament in Korea.

MFC 20
MFC 20 is a pretty damn good card for a regional show. Daley vs. Thompson is very promising since Daley has been improving in his takedown defense significantly. This could be his big win to hitting the UFC, and the rest of the main card has some decent matchups.
Hopefully Hollett doesn’t walk around like a zombie for 5 rounds like last time.

hopefully daley can make weight this time as well. hollet did show alot of ring rust in his last fight, iv’e chatted with roger a few times on the net and he is always a nice guy and has a good attitude, so i will definetly be pulling for him.

How is Chase Beebe not in the top 20, or 25, or what ever the count is you all use? That’s ridiculous.

Great post. UFC 95 is on live-ish (slight tape delay) in Canada, so after that I think I will check out this Ultimo War Champions business.

Delay? Says it starts at 3PM est/noon PST on Sportsnet’s schedule – http://www.sportsnet.ca/tvscheduleV3/tv_sked.php

Its wierd. Last time, they started about 10-15 minutes late. Then every time they wanted to take a commercial, they delayed it some more, so by the end it was a solid half hour or more behind the live Setanta feed.
Expect the same volume of commercials as usual for UFC on Spike, in other words.
