New Fedor Interview: Meeting with Dana to talk about Fedor vs Lesnar!!!!
Holy Shitake mushrooms! Read below.
DreamFighters.com: Will you be fighting on the next affliction Card? Is there been any talks of you fighting Brock Lesnar?
Fedor Emelianenko: Yes, I will fight again on the next affliction card. Besides this me and my management hope to get a chance to talk to Dana White in person in June to discuss a possible fight between me and Brock.

Wow.
Okay. Let’s not get too excited with this one. We all know the dynamics between Fedor (rather his management) and the UFC. I won’t believe it until I see him walk into the octagon (or ring, nah) and have Brock on the other corner. This may be just a ploy to get his name thrown around and get noticed.
I don't think Fedor needs to "get noticed" dude.
I agree with everything else you said though. I will believe it when I see it. I really want to see it though.
"Stop smiling you are about to be punched in the face !"
I know. Poor choice of words. What I meant with that was that they would want his name stay in circulation, much like what Tito has been doing, challenging Fedor and what not. Who knows when the 3rd Affliction card will be? Until that time they’d want to keep a buzz around him.
I for one will weep in my pants when that day comes.
I'm not attacking you, Warhand.
However, I think the whole reason Fedor would even consider a fight with Brock is because he needs to “get noticed.” He’s not a significant draw, because not too many people know who he is and why he’s so awesome…Brock Lesnar is an instant credibility boost with mainstream fight fans, and he’d “get noticed” a lot more than he has to this point, by the paying hordes of MMA fans.
Fedor is already famous, and he’s already a top-of-the-world competitor at his craft, but the one thing he is not is celebrated commensurately with his abilities and performances. He really does need to get noticed doing what he does, and the best way for him to do this is to fight Brock Lesnar in the UFC, in front of a million paying television sets.
There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.

How
many more fights does fedor have left on his Affliction contract? 1? Why not do a 3 fight deal with UFC?
Mike Goldberg: "You know Joe, When Matt and his brother Mark Hughes were growing up, they would pound each other behind the barn."
He doesn’t sign multifight contracts, I don’t think.

Same idea, just allows him to negotiate inter-promotionally from fight to fight.

Vitor freakin Belfort?!
It said his next opponent may be Vitor or Josh. Million bucks says it’s Vitor.
Ugh! Now we get to hear more BS about how he doesnt fight top competition. Talk about a no win (except for money) situation. i think Vitor could last longer than Andrei or Sylvia. And he has KO power…..think what would happen to the world of MMA if that happened.
It wouldn't.
The fight might, but Fedor has fought real strikers before. Vitor, an overrated one, won’t pose many problems. He’s a BB in BJJ I believe but I don’t think that will save him.

That was a great day. It reminded everyone how much the Big Ten sucks.

Unless you’re repping the SEC, I’d keep quiet. Big Twelve didn’t acquit itself too well during the bowls, either. War MWC!

This is just a cock tease. Brock and Fedor will never fight in the UFC.
And by the way, who says Brock will beat Mir. He hasn’t been able to yet.
I don’t think he’s going to beat Mir. i think Mir is going to quickly sub him again. As much as Brock has improved I think Mir has improved at least as much since his fight with Brock.
Mir had over a decade of MMA experience under his belt going into his fight with Lesnar, and Brock had less than a year. Now, both will have an extra year of experience, but the percentages aren’t even close (10% for Mir vs. 50% for Lesnar). Brock by first round TKO.

There's simply no way Brock gets submitted early
in the fight with Mir. The only way Mir submits the current Brock Lesnar is by somehow stunning him in the striking game, and submitting him while he’s out of it.. Brock’s just too darned good at positional control when the fight hits the ground, now.
There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.
It doesn’t really clarify WHERE he wants to fight Brock. I’m guessing Fedor’s Mgmt would want to co-promote as a UFC/M-1 Global fight and a one fight deal. If that’s the case, Dana would never agree to it.
There is no way Fedors mgmt would let him go to the UFC and not fight under the M1 name at all.
never happen
how many times have we heard this?
fedor has 1 fight left on his usa exclusive contract with affliction.
he has 4 fights left with his exclusive m1 contract
ufc will not co-promote
m-1 wont let fedor fight w/o their name attached….
Shawn at Fightlinker nails it
Dana White: We will fucking make you a superstar and pay you obscene amounts of money. Just sign the fucking piece of paper and get in the Octagon.
Crazy Russians: Well, that sounds good and all but we’re going to need you to let Fedor still compete in sambo. Also, you’re going to have to co-promote his fights with our company, M1 Global, and give us a hefty share of the profits despite the fact that people will be buying the show based on the brand and sport that you have built.
Dana White: Are you fucking delusional or just plain stupid? Fedor is not a draw here. The UFC is a draw. Fedor comes here, we make him a star, you guys get paid. Shut the fuck up and sign the dotted line, pricks.
Crazy Russians: This does not seem fair.

This is a tough match for Brock if it happens. Couture was doing fine against Brock except for Brock’s reach. Fedor is very good at getting himself in good positions on the ground. He’s probably the best at that. If Randy can squirm out from under Brock, Fedor will be able to as well. I think that one of the biggest factors will be Brock’s chin. He hasn’t looked hurt or even slightly dazed yet and he took a couple of really good shots from Randy. In order for Fedor to win, he’ll have to daze Brock at some point.
Also, by the time this fight happens, Brock will have fought Mir, Carwin, possibly Gonzaga, and probably Cain. That’s a hell of a line up to go through when you’re only four fights into your career.
I’d love to see it happen though. And I assume that if Fedor is saying this publicly, they already accept what some of the UFC’s negotiating conditions are (no cross-promoting etc). My bet is that Fedor’s willing to put all that aside for PPV % and a small 3 fight contract or something similar.
The biggest block to Fedor’s superstardom in the US isn’t the UFC, it’s his lack of enthusiasm for learning English. When i saw Machida begin speaking English, you could almost feel the acceptance and support start up for him.
And for the record, please, at some point, give me Machida vs Fedor. Yep. Now that’s a match-up.
