Bloody Elbow Exclusive: Marcus Foran vs. Ritchie Hightower Video Promo

Alright, folks. Here's the last video promo from the fights this upcoming weekend at UWC: Man O' War. The goal here obviously is to give you guys and fans at large some context about a regional card that features up and coming talent.

So what has Ritchie Hightower been up to since his appearance on The Ultimate Fighter 6? After being KO'd by Troy Mandaloniz, he actually dropped a decision to Eric DaVilla at Shak Fights 1 back in October. Foran, by contrast, is coming off of two wins. While Chris Reedy took the fight on short notice, Dixon gave Foran the sort of back-and-forth scrap a budding professional needs to gain the requisite experience and improve as he or she moves up the divisional ladder.

Hightower must know his appearance on season six of The Ultimate Fighter makes him a marked man by fighters on the regional circuit who need a win over a named opponent to gain some recognition. Foran, who is the brother of the promoter, recognizes the opportunity and aims to do just that. With Foran's recent move from F.I.T. NHB to Jackson's Submission Fighting, now would be an ideal time to build on his professional momentum.

Press release after the jump.

Disclosure: I am an employee of UWC, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I would like to point out, though, that I desperately want MMA to be successful in Washington, D.C. I am fortunate enough to have resources to potentially affect that growth and success, so I choose to make use of them. I have witnessed the development on MMA in DC since 2004 and, by far, the UWC is our best hope for having a meaningful professional organization call DC home. My goal is to grow MMA in this area and in the UWC, I have found a product that has the capability to do it well.
