Yoshihiro Akiyama departed from Tokyo's Narita Airport today for a month-plus trip, during which he plans to train with (among others) Lyoto Machida in preparation for his upcoming bout with Wanderlei Silva. Upon returning to Japan, Akiyama told reporters that he hopes to train with fellow judoka Hidehiko Yoshida, who twice faced Silva in Pride FC, battling "The Axe Murderer" for a total of 35 minutes. Kazushi Sakuraba will participate in DREAM.11 - details forthcoming. UPDATE #1 - Alright, so, even though we're three days from the event, Saku's opponent has not been announced - only the fact that he'll participate. We'll have to find out some time in the next 48 hours, since there's a public weigh-in on Monday. In the video - which is apparently a parody of the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion - Saku is told that he'll face Katsuyori Shibata, then a gaijin (foreigner), then Funaki (at which he laughs). The video is left off "to be continued."
