What the new Strikeforce roster might look like...
This is something I pulled together for my forum, using the last few EliteXC and Strikeforce cards plus their online rosters for reference. You think Trigg will sign with Strikeforce?

You can add Frank Trigg.
Jason Miller/Kala Hose winner.
So, you can add Mayhem.

Tito
I wonder the likelihood of Tito Ortiz signing with Strikeforce once he’s fully healed.
Even if his fighting skills are rather lackluster these days, he’s still a huge draw, and could really help Strikeforce.
On top of his other demands, like commentating and managerial positions. It’s almost enough to make me think that he’s with Vadim too.

If you want to let Ortiz be an official promoter, that’s fine, IMO, but don’t let that fool commentate again!
During the Day of Reckoning event, people were booing him every time he began to talk on the mic, and I don’t think that’d change in the future. (It’s true that people were overly kind to him at the weigh-ins of the event, but it was a train wreck I don’t want to see take place again.)
185, Women (assuming Gina, of course) and 155 look pretty great
170 and 220 could be decent with a little boost. 205 is a fuckin ghost town and Reis’ class is too thin.
does anyone know if feijao is 1 of the 40+ fighters strikeforce got in the deal. he is someone that i would love to see in the ufc someday for competiton sake.
Yes, he was. He will fight Babalu for the LHW title is the rumor.

supremacy
that sounds like an awesome match-up, but what about after that? none of those name on that list seem to be even close to babalu or feijao’s league. 1 step at a time i guess.
Hanman and Khalidov are two up and coming LHW’s that should challenge for the belt.

Shane Del Rosario is another top prospect that may drop to LHW.

Hey look, it’s the second best roster on Earth! As long as Strikeforce is happy with their champions and dominant fighters being courted/going to the UFC – and they should, as it would do nothing but help their brand – they should be successful.
MW and LW are comparable in top talent but not in depth. That LHW title is literally for 11th best LHW in the world. I’m just happy that they’re not dreaming of competing with the organization that created the industry.

Hey Subo thanks for yet another comparison to the UFC.
P.S. I would take Feijao to upset MANY UFC LHWs.

Then you added:

If you legitimately have a problem with Subo turning this topic into another battleground regarding Zuff vs. non-Zuffa MMA, then you shouldn’t include that little quip.

Funny coming from someone that seems to inject org comparisons into half the discussions.
Perhaps we all could give up on the silly and irrelevant comparisons for a while?
The fact that you readily call it an upset..
..is indicative of your flip-side (to Subo’s) philosophy on the world of MMA. I love Feijao, and where he could be in a year or so, but I wouldn’t pick him to beat most anyone in the top 5-7 of UFC’s 205 division.
Just curious who you think he couldn’t beat and why?
I think he fares well against a good number of them.

Sorry
I’m not the one that made the call, so I’m not going to argue it. Maybe tell me who he would upset?

I wish they had Sarah.
Sarah Kaufman (7-0, all TKO’s) signs a three fight contract with the Palace Fighting Championships with her first fight is scheduled for May 19.

I know She Signed with EliteXC before that...
But she never fought for them, so I am not sure if she was even an option for strikeforce.
Wilson Reis and Eddie Alvarez ALSO signed with other orgs, but Strikeforce is still claiming them.

I'm glad...
someone mentioned Lyle “Fancy Pants” Beerbohm. I love that guy! Did you know that his mom makes him Hamburger Helper before every one of his fights??
The best part about that factoid is that I learned that from his last fight when I talked about it during the pre-fight intros (you know the one where the fighters make bold predicitions and talk smack). Also, he told the story behind his nickname. Oh yeah, and his mom made the neon shorts that he fights in.
Oh yeah, and he is undefeated. I want to see more of this guy!

What about Jake Shields?
I assumed that in the conference call with Coker (I think I read it on cagepotato.com) when he referenced “one fighter” wanted to go to the UFC, but he thought that the negotiations were going well to get him to stay, he was talking about Jake Shields. There are some good fights for Shields in Strikeforce, but personallly, I would rather see him and his two girlfriends in the UFC.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bobby Lashley at some point.
Also, Tito wouldn’t surprise me. he can’t miss out being on network tv can he??
If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.
It depends on Tito’s asking price. Coker isn’t stupid enough to pay Tito what Tito wants but maybe Tito will be smart enough to ask for something more reasonable if he really does want to fight Frank Shamrock(that would be a real CBS main event).
The problem:
Tito thinks he’s the only one that really knows he’s not the fighter he used to be. That’s why all of this back surgery shit is eye roll enducing; he’s trying to be a salesman and boost his cost, and he’s just driving his cost down.
Bullocks
Tito’s monetary demands, as previously mentioned, are too rich for Strikeforce’s blood. They’ve made it quite clear that they don’t desire to compete on the same level as the UFC. Signings like Tito are not reasonable unless they’re sharing the burden of his cost. Reference the comments Coker recently made regarding the possibility of a guy like Fedor fighting on Strikeforce.
Let’s talk about some other fighters. Do you expect to offer Tito Ortiz a contract?
Yeah, sure. We haven’t had a sit-down with Tito, but for sure we should have that sit-down with Tito. Our company’s expectations and goals have just changed as of last Thursday and I think we should have that conversation with him, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Well, he wouldn't say no
There’s no sense in that. He’s being very congenial and world-loving at the moment, because it’s the right thing to do. I’m sure he’d meet with Tito, but I can promise you that unless Tito’s head shrinks (figuratively, but may as well be literal) there is no way he’d accept the type of offer Coker and co would make him.
"I hit [Evensen], and you could just see it in his head. He went, 'Oh, man. We don't have to do this anymore. I'm good. Thanks for having me. I'm going to go home now." -Pat "The Real Techno Viking" Berry
Grouping all of the female fighters under a Women division isn’t fair. The “Karate Hottie” is giving up almost 30 pounds to Gina.
I think the unified rules specify the weight classes for women. It’d be interesting to break the female roster down by weight.
Overeem & Khalidov
Overeem doesn’t have a contract with Strikeforce and Mamed Khalidov was released from his ProElite contract so it couldn’t be bought by Strikeforce
It’s interesting where Alvarez and Reis will go, both scheduled to fight in Bellator
