When is GSP vs. Spider?
After defeating one challenger to best pound for pound, when does GSP get the Spider who is looking for decent competition? GSP is already a gigantic 170 and is at least as strong as Silva who has underrated strength although GSP is shorter and would be giving up reach. It would be a fun kickboxing match, but I think GSP's wrestling and smart but heavy top game could be the difference. The Spider is so bored that he's talking about boxing and retirement; he's older and his peak window is closing.

I think gsp should move up… permanently. There is nothing left for him at WW if he beats alves. He has cleaned out the division.
He could take 6-8 months off and bulk up. He has the frame and the genetics, he could definitely add mass and be a normal sized 185 if given the time.
This super fight though does make a hell of a lot more sense than the penn/gsp one. gsp has clean out his division (except alves who is next) and so has Anderson. there really is nothign left for them to do. Penn never came close to doing that… he has plenty of challenged as 155.
Come on
Silva would destroy GSP. No question about this in my mind.
"Stop smiling you are about to be punched in the face !"
Yeah
If you really try to picture that fight in your mind its hard to argue with you. Silva is just a beast. Still, I want to see it just to see what would happen. I actually wish it was his next fight because I think Alves has a real good chance at beating Georges.

Gsp will beat Fitch how Alves beat him?
So he will get semi hurt drop to the ground and land an upkick? That seems like a strange gameplan.

Hey now
The last guy to win a round against Anderson Silva was Hendo, and Hendo did it with wrestling. That’s the kryptonite to the Spider, imo.

to fight...?
…Matt Lindland? Vitor? All pretty weak options…
Although I would really like to see Anderson vs. Fedor…they’re both about the same size and I think the match-up is a lot more intriguing than this one.

I mean...
Think about GSP’s fight with Matt Serra. Do you really think the entire fight, Silva wouldn’t land a clean strike? I would expect a second round TKO.
GSP also appears to small for Spider. Middleweights like Silva and Henderson are 6’2 and naturally walk around 210 pounds. I was next to Henderson and Jardine at the Affliction event and there wasn’t much size difference. For GSP to take out a top MW you have to honestly believe he can also beat a good LHW.
It’s no crime, but sometimes you just don’t have the size to compete at the higher weights no matter the skill level.
I don't think...
Gsp could beat Marquardt, Hendo, or Franklin either… I mean, theoretically its possible… but I just see him being out-muscled…
