Houston was scared you could tell. He got dropped by a jab. I lol’d. Dana should get Petruzelli in just for Kimbo rematch. Give him a chance to redeem his only loss.

It would be interesting to see how he handles those kicks.
But if I was the Matchmaker, I’d make kimbo work for another win against another opponent before making him try to avenge a loss this early.. In the mean time they should make Seth debut against a TUF alum, Mcsweeney maybe, so that he wouldn’t have that big a size difference.
If they both win, then people will want the rematch, if not, then people won’t want to see it cause it’s unnecessary.. They need to establish both guys as legit first, before picking up on the elitexc mathmaking.. In the mean time, (as I always wanted) set up Kimbo vs Gracie!

I can’t see them giving Kimbo an unknown. It seems like a waste of his marketability. If he loses to a loser what do you gain? I would have thought they would set up a fight with Chuck but now he’s taken on Tito so that’ll have to wait. And of course they’ll want to pair with sluggers so that the fight not a note. So maybe McSweeney, but I’d rather see Paul Buentello. And then maybe Seth. By the end of the year, if he can at least split those fights, you can do another catchweight with Liddell or Jardine.

its a visual spectacle, on television, you sit and you watch two men fighitng out, grappling striking and trying to end the fight as quickly and sometimes as safely for themselves as possible, they’re sponsored, they fight in an arena with lights, and some even have costumized entrance themes, its a video game, its a brand and if these guys are fighters, not entertainers
tell them to stay the fuck out of movies, tv shows, commercials, talk shows, stop writing books and stop being with the glitz and the glamour, and the fact that its heavily pushed when you win TUF that you get " A SIX FIGURE CONTRACT" (the crowd ooo0o0’s)
should show you that fighting is entertainment, its business and business is booming, and if you want straight fighting, go back to the locker room and continue to whip the slow kids ass with the towel

Seriously, trying to compare their histories is just bizarre (and I want to point out to anyone reading this that it isn’t me putting Kimbo in the same category as Wanderlei). When Kimbo has fought even one top level guy – or hell, even mid level guy – then maybe he deserves to be in the same sentence.

Did you see how improved Kimbo was, tho? He spun in a circle for a round, then transitioned from sub attempt to sub attempt (props to Alexander for his sub defense) in the second round. The man has earned my respect.

He’s going to make everyone (including himself) a bunch of money, win a few, lose a few, call it a career. All winning that fight does for him is makes it less crazy that he’s getting booked again. I doubt anyone expects him to climb the ranks and take out BROCKLESNAR..

Coming From Someone who sat on here and watched War Gods...
and Kalib Starnes Live, I wasn’t too upset with Kimbo… First round was boring, but the second round was entertaining… One modified “single leg” and a nice suplex, with a little bit of GNP, and some slight grappling. The Kimbo we saw in the 2nd Round wasn’t that bad, and probably the best we’ve seen. If he can learn some more he may be able to beat some other lower tier UFC fighters.
People won’t admit he got better because those people expected him to get KO’d, and because he has a LONG WAY TO GO…. He’d be hard pressed to be a mid level guy in the UFC, but he did his best and escaped with a win.. Good for him.

I can’t speak for other people, but I won’t admit he got better because he didn’t show that he got better. He’s a heavyweight who ragdolled a LHW, slammed him to the ground and got confused down, then gassed so hard after 1.5 rounds of fighting.
I’ll admit he improved when he does that to a legit heavyweight, or cuts to 205 and does it to a light heavyweight.
