Quotes of the Day: Greg Jackson Talks Jon Jones and Jones Talks Training With Team Jackson
"It’s certainly been an eye-opening experience for me.
"Everybody has to be harnessed. It’s how you harness them. Only a few fighters are ultra creative. You want them to be creative, as long as they’re not crazy.
"This is our first fight together. He displays a high level of maturity. For someone who’s 22, he listens, he’s coachable and he’s calm. I think it’s pretty rare. He exudes the kind of maturity not a lot of older fighters exude."
Greg Jackson talking to Sherdog about Jon Jones whom he'll be coaching against Matt Hamill.
"It sucks sometimes," he said. "Doing strength and conditioning in this high altitude, then sparring with guys like Keith and Rashad, it's tough. But I feel like I'm their little brother. They've taught me all kinds of little tricks. Going with Rashad, he's so fast. I'm getting beat up here instead of playing with people, and that's good for me."
Jon Jones talking to Ben Fowlkes about training at Team Jackson.

Johnson had an ego to him, he thought he could win it all now
Jones seems to have an idea of where he stands, he even called himself their “little brother,” and he’s actively left his small pond to become a small fish among sharks. Is he the next LHW champ? I’m not saying he is or he isn’t, but I wouldn’t compare him to AJ.
Watching Jones now
Is like watching GSP when he first came on rhe scene. I’m not saying they’re the same fighter, but like GSP when he debut in the UFC, Jones has the right attitude, the enthusiasm, humbleness about his place in the sport, the smarts, the athleticism, and a ton of potential. It adds up to a package that says “watch me, I’m going places.” Now, whether he lives up that potential remains to be seen, but following a fighter like Jones when they came along reminds you why you got into MMA in the first place.
