I love the videos that give some insight into a fighters personal life. Kissing his daughter and neglecting the person doing the interview shows a lot about his character. The more I see from him the more I like him.

I still think Badi wins the grand Prix.

Alistair is a great guy

I dislike that people always are hating on him. His character speaks volume of himself. Regarding the horse meat. It is very delicious, and i agree with him way better than beef. Thinking of it makes me want some now. I don’t get any where i go to school now only when i visit my parents. Damn it I want some now.

yeah when you eat 7 times a day i guess you have to eat something different! ;-)
i would like to see a video like that with mariusz pudzianovski!

If people are accusing ubereem of steroids.. what about Mariusz? If based on looks alone, (which where most “fans” base everything on), then he seems like a prime canditate. haha :)

by Anton Tabuena on Dec 4, 2009 5:45 PM EST up reply actions

there is no debate there, everyone knows Mariusz uses gear.

How many times was he suspended from the worlds strongest man competition for steroids?twice? Or was it only once

by MikeD32 on Dec 4, 2009 5:59 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

He tested positive for cocaine not steroids I believe.

of course

that sport is completely dominated by steroids. I asked a guy who trains BJJ with us, who is from the competitive strongman background and he said there isnt one guy competing that isnt cranking. i never knew that until he told me

by bluejitz on Dec 4, 2009 6:21 PM EST up reply actions

in Poland in MMA there is no steroid testing

like in most countries

I always used to think horse meat was suspect...

until I actually tried it. It really is surprisingly tasty, and when prepared by a good chef I think it’s even better than beef steak. Too bad it’s illegal where I live now. Damn hippies.

Illegal? That’s really bizarre. Somewhere in US?

In parts of Europe horse beef is really common. I live in Switzerland from time to time and there it ’s a staple food.

Kangaroo meat here in Australia is really good too……and cheap as well!!

Sorry for double post

But I for one believe Overeem does not use steroids … Hes young, and for the past 5 years has finally been able to eat and lift. I went from 170 to 227 in 2 yrs just eating massively and training after work with Olympic lifts. There is no doubt in my mind someone with a nutritionist and 24/7 training can make the Gains he has.

I took a paper shopping bag full of food to school every day for about a year to get my weight up. I went from about 165 to 195, but eating that much took all the pleasure out of it. I had to force myself to eat. Yuck.

i love ubereem

his regimine is sweet:
-i wake up, then eat. I take a shit, then eat. I shower, then eat. I train, then eat. Before i nap, i eat. Wake up, eat. Then after dinner i eat. Then before bed i eat.

Sounds like fun to me!

I’ll be honest in saying that I’ve personally always thought Overeem was on the juice, but I also know that eating that many calories, and so much protein, with hard work, will put massive amounts of muscle on a body. He also had a frame that seemed to n ot be full when he was smaller, always looked scrawny for his size, so him beefing up is no longer that suprising to me.

Damn he eats alot.

Ya he eats a TON of food. And I mean look at his brother, hes a massive dude, always has been.

by Chuntsman949 on Dec 4, 2009 6:29 PM EST reply actions

i dont doubt the amazing genetics

i look like dustin hazelett (physique wise) and there is no amount of roids and lifting in the world that could make me look like overeem. But if i had to guess, i would say that there are some GOOD reasons to believe overeem is taking some kind of anabolic steroid and or HGH

by bluejitz on Dec 4, 2009 6:36 PM EST up reply actions

That's a ridiculous amount of protein.

Going number 2 must be one of the training sessions. Christ.

Burns most of his calories dropping a deuce, thus is why he eats so much. ;)

by casey manrique on Dec 4, 2009 8:57 PM EST reply actions

It’s possible that he did the roids, but not impossible that he wasn’t.

Every person has a their current body and a potential body. SOmetimes that body is way bigger but usually that body is way smaller due to overconsumption of sugar and bad fats etc. I think that Overeem was probably the former even if he was/is roiding. He was still maturing and at the same time cutting to get to 205. Once he stopped cutting and started eating like a buzzaw, it makes sense that he’s as big as he is. He did it quickly, but if the body wanted to get bigger anyways it’s of course possible. I’d love to see him fight Fedor. Can’t wait for that one.

by Dooda on Dec 4, 2009 9:17 PM EST reply actions

Also, it must be good being a heavyweight because you don’t need to worry about cutting weight. (well except if your name is Brock Lesnar or Shane Carwin) But all the lighter weights gotta worry of what they eat to try and lose while Overeem here is trying to eat as much as he can and with the likes of steak potatoes fish etc…I don’t think he gets cranky too much. :P
