The UFC continues to patch up the once-neutered UFC 108 lineup with Dave Meltzer reporting a light heavyweight bout pitting veteran Vladimir Matyushenko against young gun Steve Cantwell.

With losses in his last two fights, Cantwell faces a very steep challenge in what may be his last chance at holding onto his UFC contract.

UFC 108:
Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva
Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley
Junior Dos Santos vs. Gilbert Yvel
Tyson Griffin vs. Jim Miller

Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout
Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Steve Cantwell
Martin Kampmann vs. Rory Markham
Sean Sherk vs. Rafaello Oliveira
Mike Pyle vs. Jake Ellenberger
Dan Lauzon vs. Cole Miller
Mark Munoz vs. Ryan Jensen

sherk’s gonna have more viewers for his post fight jog, if he sinks any lower on the undercard.

it doesn’t have star power but this will be a fun card. i don’t really think anything will be boring besides sherk’s fight. but i’m surprised where munoz’s fight is on the card.

Looking at the undercard, if they do the prelims on Spike thing again, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make it.

This card is looking great, I only see 1 or 2 decisions there are going to be lots of KO’s and subs because with fights like Daley/Condit and Markham/Kampman it’s going to be exciting and over quick.

tough matchup for cantwell and situation. he was building himself nicely in the wec, getting better each fight, but then they cut the division and he gets luis cane in his ufc debut. loses a hard fought decision, then loses a razor thin decision to stann and now faces a terrible style matchup for himself in what could be the last fight on his contract. hopefully the ufc keeps him around and lets him get some matchups against guys around the same experience level again…like szoyzinski, eliiot marshall, eric shcafer, jon jones.

His nasty armbar on Al-Hassan was his UFC debut

not Cane, so he’s actually 1-2 in the Octagon going into this fight, not 0-2. Still dire straits for him though.
