It’s kind of hard to not like Kimbo. He seems like a really genuine guy. One can find complaints with the way he was handled over the years, but on a personal level, he appears to be a good dude. Hope he gets the win.
Yeah, I’m a little sick of all the Kimbo hating. It’s guys like him that the ultimate fighter was designed for, to me the real issue is guys like Roy Nelson with serious pro credentials ruining the chances of other “developing” fighters. As we all know the fighters come along way between the show and the UFC so lets give Kimbo a little love for going through the motions.

Hmm
I don’t think it’s about hating him. It’s just obvious he’s not that serious about the sport, or he is in waaay over his head. He can go on TUF and say he’s training hard, but people say he isn’t even working on his ground game.
You just can’t jump into MMA at 35, not really train, and not really go for it and expect people to love you for your looks and attitude.
He should go to the WWE.

Yup
I really don’t hate the guy, he seems like a good guy. But I just don’t see him ever becoming a legit mixed martial artist. I would put him in the same category as Tank and Butterbean. Fun to watch, but nowhere near even gatekeeper status. (God, I did not just say Butterbean is fun to watch…)
Starve the beast!!

Kimbo talks to Tito:

I can’t listen to Kimbo interviews. “You know what I’m sayin’?” I can’t handle it. It sounds like a broken record to me. Other than that, I like him.
What is this, a Know-what-I'm-census?

Sorry. I couldn’t resist. Canada’s finest TV show, ever…
His striking isn’t crisp and that’s all he’s got.
If he can’t win this one I don’t see how he could win anything in the UFC.

there's a lot more weaker matchups out there for kimbo you know..
Houston is VERY dangerous standing up, and I was actually surprised they decided to match him up against Kimbo..

I don't think he will fare well with the weight cut, this being his first time doing it.
I think that Huston will definitely take it cause he is probably just as good if not better standing up then kimbo, also he has better ground and is used to the weight cut. He isn’t even cutting down to 205 like he usually does. Money on Huston.
I really think they need to make a 235 pound weight class in between LHW and HW. This seems really logical to me.
Or a superheavyweight so we can see the monsters clash at full strength.

I'm putting money on him NOT making weight
He’ll sacrifice 10% of his purse to Houston.
houston hardly cuts any weight.
he only has one kidney.

i know it's been discussed to death, but they really shoulda matched him up with someone else from the cast.
obviously they sees dollar signs with him, so why not bring him along slow, in the same way they would other inexperienced cast members (amir, for example)? obviously the houston matchup is meant to keep him off the ground, but they could’ve achieved the same within his own weight class, with less risk. and it’s becoming clear that he’s also ill-prepared for, and disinterested in, a move down to 205. so what’s the point? what do they plan to do with him when/if he loses on saturday?
indeed
Kimbo barely put James “get’s ko’d by everyone” Thompson away… I think that Houston will destroy him.

Hmmm,
Houston says he’s going to mix things up to avoid banging with Kimbo.. Does that mean he will take things to the ground? or just strike at a distance?
I think it’s the later, but i’d be surprised to see this fight go to the ground.
wouldnt surprise me to see him try some GnP. Whats the worst that can happen? He gets swept and they both stand up again.

the worst?
is that he eats some punches trying to take kimbo down.. but yes, that would also be a good strategy.

Mentally
Mentally, Kimbo has already lost. I predict he’ll get knocked out in the first round.
Shut up, Tito.
Dana gets one of two outcomes.
Either Kimbo wins and they can use him to sell another event, or his stock is totally destroyed (lost to fat guy, KTFO by smaller and less scary looking black man) and is useless to any other promotion. Either way, good for UFC.
