Mousasi really is the next Fedor

I bet that the money is really good
Otherwise, seeing a mismatch like this is pretty pointless. It’s cool to see Mousasi fighting, but I’d rather see him fight someone that’s at least decent. It reminds me of seeing Overeem fight Thompson.

Unacceptable.

At least if it was under K-1 rules you could make the argument that he’s still relatively a novice. But with mma rules?

Ugh...

Honestly
I love Gegard, but there’s only one reason a guy takes a fight so clearly below his skill level, and that’s to score an easy win. If he’s taking Goodridge lightly, I hope he makes him pay for it. People can complain about Leites/Silva all they want, but this is truly embarrassing stuff.

they also just announced a fight that will happen in two days.
I don’t get it.. Doesn’t announcing that Gegard Mousasi will compete at the event help gain even more viewers?

What is the new fight?
Only change I could find is that Kim Jong Man is replacing Marlon Sandro vs. Hideo Tokoro.
LOL, Goodridge can’t make anyone pay. He’s one of the leading candidates for a brain damage study. It’s obvious he has brain damage from prolonged beatings to his dome, and his latest fights and getting drubbed by some amateur fighters is the proof. Goodridge shouldn’t be fighting, period. And this fight is ridiculou.

No shit
I’m basically hoping for a miracle every time one of these attrocious fights gets booked— Tony Sylvester, Gary Goodridge— this shit is ridiculous and I wish one of these poor bastards would pull out a miracle KO.

Iam happy he is sticking with MMA rather than flirting with kickboxing.
for all intents and purposes, just consider all my posts as works of satire.
and you’ve just won the positive thinker award.

It’s good to see Mousasi challenging himself, first Sokoudjou and now Gary Goodridge. I mean come on! I definitely think there is a lot of potential in Mousasi and that he might develop into one of the best pound for pound but he needs to start fighting some real competition.
It’s called the “regressive career path” – every successive opponent you face is worse than the last one.
Yeah!
Mike Whitehead is totally worse than 2009 Mark Kerr!

I can’t say I blame him for taking fights like this. His stock has gone through the roof since he signed his last contract. Regardless of whether he wants to continue in Strikeforce or jump to the UFC, it’s in his best interest to finish his current contract without losing. He’s worth way more now than he’s getting paid.
I kind of agree.
First, I would never take a fight where there’s no drug testing. Second If I have to fulfill a contract this way Im gonna take only gimme fights.
Gegard said himself he wouldn’t fight Soko in japan because there’s no testing…
The real question is who will Gegard fight in Strikeforce?
Finally the big Mousasi v Goodridge matchup that we have all been screaming for. Thank you Dream.

is there any truth....
that this will be for the WAMMA world middle-heavy-lightweight championship of the world? seems that u really should have a meaningless fight be for a meaniless title at least! u have easily the number 1 catchweight fighter in the world vs the #1 has been in the world, title fight should be an obvious choice

The real quesion here
Does this fight count towards his 3-fight deal with M1, and does it mean he’s one step closer to free agency?

For those hoping to see him the UFC don't hold your breathe
Obviously he has more than a 3-fight deal left:
- He plans on fighting for Dream on NYE, plus in a LHW tourney in May. If he wins a 8 or 16-man tournament that would give him 4 or 5 more Dream fights (and it has been quoted that he only had two more left).
- Plus he supposedly signed a three fight Strikeforce deal and he’s already fought twice , but now they are talking a fight in April and another one in fall. That’s 4 fights for those playing at home.
- In addition when you look at the fact that M-1 was is basically forcing Strikeforce to put Mousasi on Fedor’s CBS cards, does that sound like they think he’s getting ready to jump ship? Why go through all the trouble of building him up if you knew he was going to leave you in a couple more fights? And if his contract was running out and they wanted to resign him why wouldn’t they do what they UFC does: put him on ice in hopes of using the leverage to get him to sign a new contract? I think we can stop dreaming about Mousasi dropping m-1 and going to the UFC anytime soon.
