Dan Hardy says "I Am Georges St-Pierre's Kryptonite":

"GSP knows what's coming. He knows there's a left hook with his name on it and at some point in the 25 minutes I'll land it.

"I'm expecting him to take me down. At some point in the fight I'll end up on my back and I'll fight from it. When you're fighting GSP you accept at some point you're going to get taken down, but now GSP has to expect that when he fights me he's going to get hit in the face over and over again.

"I'm always the underdog. Every fight I go into nobody thinks I'm going to win. Even after I beat GSP and take the belt, it's going to take four or five fights to prove I'm the champion. I'm going to go in there and do everything I can to take the belt off him and whatever happens, so be it, but I'm confident I can win."

As long as he knows that he WILL be taken down, then we’re good.

There is something about Dan Hardy that makes me like him more and more as a fighter each time i see him.

You gotta love a guy who banks on a “puncher’s chance” on not only beating GSP, but a 4-5 fight reign as champion.

Ha, yeah i must admit though that made me chuckle.

I would probably like this guy so much if he didn’t have that damn Mohawk. Call it the Koscheck syndrome. I’ve finally come around on Kos but its taken a few years. Wait it out Dan. Or just cut your damn hair.

It is part of his gimmick, that and that ridiculous bandana he wears coming into the cage. I watch enough professional wrestling NOT to want to see a fighter have a professional wrestling gimmick (The Outlaw). Hardy is simply my number one most hated fighter.

I love GSP, but I kind of want Hardy to win

just b/c it would be a mindf*ck.

I see GSP beating him handily.

I'm glad Hardy's not a preacher......

Cause I’d probably attend his church and give him 1/2 my money or some shit. He’s VERY convincing. I think he actually has a shot against GSP right now. Then again, GSP will put him on his back and win handly.

been a dan hardy fan ever since his response to that douche in some thread. i think UFC would be wise to push him ahead of Michael Bisping as face of MMA in the UK, ppl hate him a lot less

Rec'd

Simply for the fact that I do in fact HATE Bisping more than I’ll ever hate Hardy.

Sure, if he had 25 minutes. It’s a five round fight, but I don’t see Hardy getting out of round two.

I love me some Sexyama!

I think you’re underestimating Hardy’s toughness or his corner’s willingness to let him absorb a beating. GSP probably wont knock him out and his submission defense is pretty decent. This has 50-45 decision written all over it.

not even Joe Rogan can hold him down!

by Stanlee on Dec 28, 2009 10:04 PM EST up reply actions

Unless Joe slips him a roofie or somethin, then he’s toast. Joe would only do that to help, though, because you can’t find training partners to simulate GSP’s top control. So, you train while drugged with normal people, it helps simulate it…or helps you break something unknowingly, one of the two.

Dewd’s very delusional now isn’t he …… I know he cannot convince himself that he’ll lose, however one should live in reality and not in fantasy.
I for one am looking forward to GSP’s absolute beatdown of Dan Hardy.

by twodragunns on Dec 28, 2009 7:40 PM EST reply actions

I'll chime in on this sentiment

Everytime the discussion arises about who’s going to have a chance against GSP, people instantly dismiss it. I once tried to suggest that Fitch had something going in the 2nd rd of their fight. This wasn’t popular. At all. “He got a little bit less of an ass kicking for 1 rd out of 5 and suddenly we have a blueprint to beat GSP?” Rather than agree that something like rd 2 is the way to get it done – stuff the shots and land body punches, iirc.

I agree that Hardy is going to lose. But we should be glad about the fact that someone is even willing to get motivated for a fight against GSP at this point.

He looked great media-wise.

I’m curious is Dan will give GSP the runner-up trophy at the press confrence.

A runner up trophy will probably turn a merciful R1 submission into a 25 minute ass kicking.

Man I hate I wasn't there

This guy makes me like him more and more every time I see him. Intelligent, funny, nice guy. And he’s gonna KO GSP no later than early in the 3rd.

You're nuts

Its pretty hard to knock someone out when they are on top of you raining punches or behind you tugging on your neck. Hardy has one weapon…GSP has 20.

dont forget the mohawk man

You’re absolutely right. Thing is, I’ve been pulling for someone to beat GSP since the Fitch fight, he’s too dominant for my liking. I am a GSP fan, but I wanna see him lose the belt then come back destroying again, not just thoroughly dominating. Plus, he’s the only challenger that I actually like more than Georges.

And NEW UFC Welterweight Champion of the World.....Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy!

by slapjaw ackrite on Dec 29, 2009 7:00 PM EST up reply actions

Answer me this honestly.

How many people dislike Hardy because he’s British?

Be truthful.

by grein on Dec 29, 2009 5:02 AM EST reply actions

The problem isn't him being British

The problem is him being a total douche.

I’m not American, so him being British is really a non issue for me (apart from the annoying accent) but his trash talking, his gimmickry and stupid bad boy act… that’s what gets on my nerves and makes me hope that he gets his face rearranged every time he fights

But to make matters worse he just keeps winning… i gotta give him that. But ooooh boy it’s gonna be awesome to see him get destroyed by GSP

by xharekx33 on Dec 29, 2009 6:20 AM EST up reply actions

GSP by headkick.
