I agree

I am really pulling for Yvel in this fight, or at least when he loses he blows up and tries to stomp Steve Mazagatti’s face in.

That might be what Dana is banking on.

Can someone recap the vid. My nets capped :s How’s Yvel looking?

I’m pretty sure someone is going to die in the Yvel/Dos Santos fight.

(insert obligatory referee joke here)

Nice introduction of Yvel, looking forward to that fight.

by grein on Dec 28, 2009 2:12 AM EST reply actions

No mention of the loss to Barnett? lol

by midwestbred on Dec 28, 2009 2:28 AM EST reply actions

did that happen?

I thought those were just rumored bouts, like the talks of Frank Shamrock once being in the UFC..

by Anton Tabuena on Dec 28, 2009 2:38 AM EST up reply actions

I think you mean Ken Shamrock, Anton. And he was in the UFC. God.

Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.

by Sam Cupitt on Dec 28, 2009 2:45 AM EST up reply actions

wow. i must really suck at jokes..haha.

that was a reference to the UFC erasing Frank Shamrock from their history..

by Anton Tabuena on Dec 28, 2009 3:17 AM EST up reply actions

And, in my opinion, his fight against Ortiz was one of the best in UFC history.

by grein on Dec 28, 2009 3:49 AM EST up reply actions

I got it.

The joke was solid.

I think he was making a joke too…

by KyleAskine on Dec 28, 2009 6:58 AM EST up reply actions

lol I was hoping you were going to look back at my comment and see it as a joke… but apparently not.

I should have spelled it out in the font, sarcastica.

hahahaha.

it seems like KyleAskine is the only one with a working sarcasmeter. haha.

Why would they mention his losses when they are trying to hype him up?

Does Strikeforce go out of their way to mention Mousasi’s loss to Gono, or Scott Smith getting drummed out of the UFC by Ed Herman? Of course not.

$10

says Gilbert Yvel bites Dos Santos THEN knocks out Mazzagatti. Afterwards, he eyegouges Goldie like Gordeau did Yuki Nakai..,

be wary of those crazy dutchmen.

you have to throw in something people dont think will happen, otherwise no one will take the bet.

well this shit did a job on me, im pumped for the fight now alot more than i was. when you think about it, this fight really should be great., i mean yvel is durable and a great striker, same with dos santos, should be dope.

by Marcus213 on Dec 28, 2009 6:24 AM EST reply actions

I know I’m being really anal but damn, all i could think of at the end of the video (before the fight clip) was that they were wearing shoes on the mat. I cant stand when that happens at my gym.

by xharekx33 on Dec 28, 2009 6:50 AM EST reply actions

It’s not out of tradition and respect that I consider it wrong. It’s just gross. People is gonna be rolling there, dont step on it with your dirty shoes.

by xharekx33 on Dec 29, 2009 6:23 AM EST up reply actions

plus, naming Cheick Kongo to introduce and bring credibility for Yvel after Congo being absolutely destroyed by Frank Mir… not a good call IMHO

by xharekx33 on Dec 28, 2009 6:54 AM EST reply actions

on a side note:

I think this move by Dana is a great way to affect betting lines.

by Anton Tabuena on Dec 28, 2009 7:50 AM EST reply actions

It worked for Werdum-Dos Santos.

by Steve4192 on Dec 28, 2009 8:37 AM EST up reply actions

yep..

and that was like a minute of Junior hitting the pads. What more an entire video blog featuring Yvel?

by Anton Tabuena on Dec 28, 2009 8:40 AM EST up reply actions

I am guessing Dos Santos is going to get a video blog too. It would be awesome if they adopted this format for fight week video blogs.

by Dropkick434 on Dec 28, 2009 2:09 PM EST up reply actions

that would be good,

but I think it would be hard for Dana to keep travelling from gym to gym. especially when their camps arent in Vegas…

If he does visit them a few days before the fight when their already set up in vegas, it’s all going to be light training and pad work for the most part.

by Anton Tabuena on Dec 28, 2009 2:55 PM EST up reply actions

Neutral.

He’s not known for outstanding cardio, but he’s also not known for gassing out prematurely. He’s mostly known for his incredibly dangerous striking, completely pedestrian ground game, and his penchant for fighting dirty.

by Steve4192 on Dec 28, 2009 10:07 AM EST up reply actions

He looked pretty gassed just from hitting pads. That can’t be good.

I wonder how good Dana White is at brazillian jiu jitsu?

for all intents and purposes, just consider all my posts as works of satire.

by Bandaka on Dec 28, 2009 9:54 AM EST reply actions

Not very.

The reason Lewis was his only BJJ trainer is because Dana quit training. The Fertitta brothers kept it up, but Dana did not.

by Steve4192 on Dec 28, 2009 10:08 AM EST up reply actions

Little worried Dana?

Looks like White might be a little worried if he’s already out pushing vlogs for this fight. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them but it seems like theres a little more hustle behind this one than usual.

Dos Santos is going to take Yvels head off.
