Quotes of the Day: Frank Trigg and Matt Serra Talk Smack

Photo

"He's in the twilight of his career. Unfortunately, when he loses to me, he's going to realize that his days as a fighter are going to be limited. He'll be able to go ahead and continue fighting in smaller, lesser-known organizations if he wants. Hopefully, he does so at 155. He's small to begin with, but he's definitely too small for this weight class and too small for me in this fight, as well." Frank Trigg

"Look, when my career is over and done with, I'm the one who can look back and say that I was the champ. He got there twice and choked both times -- literally. I refuse to lose to a guy that has a [expletive] tramp stamp. You've seen his back, right? C'mon. No way am I losing to a guy that walks around with that." Matt Serra

Trigg and Serra talking to Sherdog about their upcoming match at UFC 109.

It’s ok. I’m pretty sure everyone knows what it is anyway.

Even if Serra loses to Trigg he wont be cut

He is another “Dana” guy if you have ever seen him on Dana’s video blogs so I sincerely doubt they will cut him just like if Bonnar loses to Kristoff or if Griffin had lost to Ortiz they wouldnt be cut.

This fight is one of those fights where there is so much trash talk and then it probably wont be that great of a fight. I guess I got Serra via decision.

I think I saw Serra at LaGuardia on Monday, and I have a really grainy picture on my cell phone. Not sure, though

But all short people from NY that wear bus caps look the same

We're just a million little gods causin' rain storms, turning every good thing to rust.

Even for kayfabe, this is pretty dumbed down

There are better ways to hype up a confrontation than just throwing a bunch of shit talk at the wall. For example: maybe at the next UFC, Trigg can run down Renzo Gracie in the parking garage?

Think outside the box, people.

REC'd for Serra's tramp stamp quote!

LMAO

That is kinda ridiculous that Trigg has a tattoo there.

Way to sell the fight.

“He’s in the twilight of his career. Unfortunately, when he loses to me, he’s going to realize that his days as a fighter are going to be limited. He’ll be able to go ahead and continue fighting in smaller, lesser-known organizations if he wants”

I mean if Serra is so old and Trigg beats him, why should we care? Trigg just beat a guy he himself said is too old.

Whenever I hear trigg or serras names, I naturally think “not impressed” ala that gsp techno mix video

by kanodogg on Dec 26, 2009 9:04 PM EST via mobile reply actions

too bad i’m not impressed by your attempted joke

It was not a joke jackass

Am I missing something??

Seriously, it’s like trigg thinks he’s the face of the new breed of mma fighter or something.. Aren’t they both old&irrelevant?

Be like water..

I dont know, kind sorta? Trigg may not be as relevant but Serra is 1-1 with GSP and lost a close decision to Hughes.

for all intents and purposes, just consider all my posts as works of satire.

Yeah, I still think that matt serra beating gsp was pretty lucky though. It just sounds lame on triggs part using the stereotype ’i’m the big dog now & your time is up old man’ wwe speech when he’s a veteran that seems to be a little past his prime also.. I like them both as fighters I just think they sound like douchebags in interviews, especially this one..

Be like water..
