Multiple sources have reported that veteran Brazilian MMA trainer Marco Jara, was murdered by gunmen after being car-jacked outside of Rio de Janeiro earlier this week. Although he never competed in MMA, Jara was a BJJ black belt and spent much of his time coaching in California, particularly working with Marco Ruas whom Jara brought to the US early in his career. Jara also trained Mirko Cro Cop during the early days of his MMA career, and at the time of his death, he was working with welterweight prospect Brett Cooper. HT: Sherdog
