I know this might seem minor, but could you please do a JC on The Whizzer. I love the ground fighting, but when Rogan sees a Whizzer, he never explains what it is. And since I have zero wrestling background, I always miis it because it seems to happen so fast.
Thanks for all the fantastic work you do, btw. My understanding of the sport (and my interest level as a result) has increased dramatically as a result of your efforts.
I recall Nate going over it a bit during a Judo Chop on Hazelett’s armbar of Burkman, but that might be the rx drugs talking, b/c I can’t seem to find it.

I don't think I did that beautiful armbar
but I need to and it’s a great excuse to talk about the whizzer too.
thanks for the suggestions!

Nate, have you done a judo chop on the different finishes of a guillotine? Arm in vs. standard vs. RNC grip, and the different guards and situations it can be applied in?
Also, i don’t know if you have written this before, but if you have i’d love to read it, on the superman punch that GSP lands so effectively and belcher’s variation vs. akiyama.
And finally, even though marcus jones is a striking dud, i loved that positional control he utilized on TUF, gaining side control and swinging his outside leg over his opponents head to open up some devastating head strikes. Thats something that a more powerful/ well rounded wrestler like brock could utilize to absolutely crush people. I’d never seen it before, but i’m sure theres a precursor to it somewhere.
the marcus jones one is particularly intriguing to me. I don’t know if he accomplishes it sheerly due to strength, but he traps the arms and throws his leg over the head like he was going for an armbar, but keeps his weight on the chest and then can throw punches. seems like such a good setup for a lot, but a move that couldn’t be pulled off by a smaller guy… certainly didn’t hurt him that he was fighting stooges though

how about?
the various takedown defenses of Lyoto Machida and BJ Penn. nobody seems to be able to get them to the ground
excellent
let me see if i have anything intelligent to add on the topics!

Nate – I really can’t heap enough praise on you for this “Judo Chop” series. This series provides the perfect illustration of what differentiates BE from other MMA websites. Also, the fact that you seek outside expertise in areas you are not familiar with provides a level of depth that goes above and beyond anything I’ve read in the MMA blogosphere. Good job!

I know you did one about Cung Lees throws, but how about his kicks. Better yet highlight kicks from a number of fighters. Jon Jones,Torres,A.Silva, lee, etc. Or instead of just exotic kicks in general, focus on the side kick I think its a underused safe and powerful kick.
good suggestion
definitely need to do one on Cung Le’s kicks. The side kick is money.
