Ishii time
Anyone know anything about how he has been progressing as a fighter in his camp?
Giving Shogun his props. I had the fight 48-47 Machida but Shogun put up a monumental performance and I am honored to have seen it in person.
He’s been sitting around watching Jersey Shore with the “NYBA”, he’s going to come out fist pumping.

Peter Aerts leg kicked him to death earlier this year
I think that’s about it for his kickboxing endeavors though
Soku and Minowaman isn't enough of a freakshow to end the Superhulk tourney.
Otherwise a solid card. Nothing special, especially for the NYE event, but should produce some good scraps.

The press conference to announce the rest of the card is coming up in the next couple of hours, isn’t it?

The audio is terrible, but I just heard Sasahara say Kawajiri vs. Yokota.

Wow, so Aoki cut Hirota off in the middle of an answer and (from what a Japanese-speaking friend tells me) basically told him “shut the fuck up.”
LOL
No wonder people don’t like Aoki. He is a feisty one.

Aoki is like the Japanese Forrest Griffin
Most of the time he plays himself up as this character, but occasionally he lets his guard down and just comes off as a total prick. It doesn’t help that he is in an expiring contract situation… his incentive to talk shit has never been higher.
Aoki/Hirota is a cool fight, and makes a lot of sense since they’re the champions of their respective organizations. Really looking forward to that one.
Agreed...
I wish it would have been Bibiano/Kanehara instead of KID/Kanehara, makes more sense and Kanehara wouldn’t look as bad if he lost to a Champ.
Mousasi
What happened to the Mousasi fight under K1 rules? There was talk of him fighting Ewerton Teixeira.
Gotta say, I don't understand the blasé attitude toward this card.
Omigawa-Takaya
Sandro-Tokoro
Sakurai-Gono
Soko-Minowa
Ishii-Yoshida
All pretty ill matchups. A couple of those could headline a PPV. Not to mention Masato’s retirement fight against a guy who’s beaten him twice.
I guess everyone’s really bummed that Aoki-‘Jiri isn’t happening? But it’ll happen next year. It’ll have to, or both are likely to bolt for the States.
