Marcus Jones better make sure his stand up is good enough to protect his neck.
I can not believe he was unable to capitalize on the full mount position.

Can Kimbo successfully cut to 205lbs. without losing power and endurance? We will see.

Roy Nelson? Brendan Schaub? who knows.

I think the Kimbo fight is at some odd catchweight.

No problem

He’s gonna step on the scale at 219, go shave his beard, and come back at 204.

by ufc4 on Dec 2, 2009 11:37 PM EST up reply actions

2 weeks ago there were news coming out of ATT that he is 215 already.

by dancingChicken on Dec 3, 2009 4:26 AM EST up reply actions

I thought Mcsweeney and Schoonover were set to fight also. Demico needs to get a shot also.

Titties!!!

I would love to see McSweeney get beat again. I hope Schoonover gets the KO victory.

Sorry, I wasn’t a fan of McSweeney’s attitude. Picking on Zak wasn’t cool.

Agreed.

Schoonover can finally smash McSweeney for trying to pick a fight about the bird.

I thought Schoonover got recalled by the army.

I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.

I thought with the drama in the house that the UFC would do McSweeney vs Zak Jensen (Zak would get destroyed though). Schoonover vs McSweeney works too.

Talk about throwing Kimbo into the deep end..

I’ll be shocked beyond belief if he can go past 2 with Houston..

I like Bones, Schaub, Edgar, Houston

by MSEMCEE on Dec 2, 2009 11:37 PM EST reply actions

I forgot about the leg kicks Houston used in his last fight. No way Kimbo can check a constant barrage of leg kicks.

Especially considering Kimbo's bad knee...

which everyone knows about now thanks to the TV show.

Houston or Kimbo

I like both fighters but I don’t have faith in their abilities. They’re both 35+ years old.
Who’s ground game is better?
Houston has better stand up for sure, but will he get chin checked?

By Kimbo’s non-existant power? I think that chin check is headed in the other direction.

by Rabbit915 on Dec 3, 2009 12:48 AM EST up reply actions

The logic is that when you KO somebody you have KO power, haha. And Ferguson KO’d Tank, didn’t he?

by dancingChicken on Dec 3, 2009 4:31 AM EST up reply actions

If you hit James Thompson flush with multiple power shots and he doesn’t go down, you don’t have power.

Exactly my point. And can you really even call KOing Tank an accomplishment at this point?

by Rabbit915 on Dec 3, 2009 11:10 AM EST up reply actions

I know Ferguson doesn’t have big power… But you know, the sentence “when you KO somebody you have KO power” works for some fighters and for some doesn’t work, I wanted to check reactions. Lets call it an experiment…

He was probably pacing himself – he knew he was more experienced than everyone else, so he could commit only what energy was needed to those fights. I wouldn’t be surprised if, now that he has a full fight on his hands without worrying about fighting again so soon, he’ll go full-speed to win.

McSweeny was squirming all over but the gut was too much.

by brad23 on Dec 3, 2009 6:06 AM EST reply actions

Main card: I think Jones and Nelson will definitely take their fights, haven’t seen Veach fight enough to guess how he’ll do against Edgar, and I think Houston/Kimbo could go either way.

Undercard: I think Marcus has enough technique to end the fight on the ground, but I didn’t like how he took some of those shots from Schaub and Mitrione looks like he packs some power. Despite making it to the semifinals, I’m not impressed w/ McSweeney at all and think Schoonover can kick his ass. And Hallman/Howard – I don’t even care, I just want to see Doomsday fight Superman(though I’d bet on Doomsday here). :D

by Hardcase on Dec 3, 2009 8:03 AM EST reply actions

Sooo?

Kimbo loses in the 1st round and gets the toughest fight? They should have gave him one of the fighters from the show that weren’t too good. Matt Mitrione?

Where did Darryl Schoonover

Compile a 10-0 record?. I would be willing to bet against either 0-0, or mucho 0-_ competition

by SimplePsych on Dec 3, 2009 11:52 AM EST reply actions

What was McSweeny thinking?

Leaving his hands down like that and asking Big Country to punch him in the face. Well he got his wish and then didn’t get into the finals. Maybe that’s why his record is 3-4. Cause he doesn’t stick to game plans. And also being a dick might have something to do with it. was the first time that I was rooting for Roy Nelson on the show!
And I thought that if you get into a fight in the house then there’s repercussions…

by Lunchbox15 on Dec 3, 2009 12:28 PM EST reply actions

This TUF was just horrid. I’m glad it is over frankly.

I hope Jones wins and goes to a really, really good camp, works his ass off, and improves greatly.
