Stephen Quadros Wants GSP - Tyron Woodley in One Year
Earlier this week, Heavy.com & Watch Kalib Run's E. Spencer Kyte sat down with former Pride and current Strikeforce broadcaster Stephen Quadros.
In addition to confirming that "87.123666 % of Chuck Norris Facts are undisputed and true, [while] the others are also true under the right lighting," the man commonly known as "The Fight Professor" offered up an interesting series of answers to Kyte's patented matchmaker question:
Heavy.com: If you could play matchmaker for one day, regardless of organizational ties or anything like that, what three fights would you make and why?
Stephen Quadros: Anderson Silva vs. Gegard Mousasi, BJ Penn vs. Jose Aldo, Georges St. Pierre vs. Tyron Woodley one year from now.
Quadros is the first person not to say Anderson Silva vs. Georges St-Pierre, and while the matchups for both Silva and BJ Penn are interesting, the most intriguing answer is the high praise earned by Qaudros' selection as the best prospect in the game, Tyron Woodley.
Now that we've got you interested, feel free to surf on over to Heavy.com to check out the rest of the interview.

Jesus, Supremacy, you got beat up a lot when you were younger didn’t you?

Meaning it didn’t stop when you got older?
I dislike Matt Hughes. Shogun beat him like a dirty horse.

This is 100% true and 80-90% creepy
I had a dream the other day that Supe and I were kickboxing. Every time I hit him, he turned to the crowd and told them why he was winning. Last time I read BE right before bed.

Maybe not next year, but in a couple years, if Woodley keeps progressing… I’d be up for this fight.

What did Woodley do to make Quadros hate him so?

Refacepalm...
GSP would smash him 1 or 2 years from now….

GSP smashes everyone right now…
That said, Woodley is a legit prospect and has looked really good in Strikeforce. Working with ATT is never a bad thing, especially when you have a great work ethic, loads of raw talent and those minds and teachers around to help build you…
Woodley will be a title contender somewhere in the next couple years.

but until he beats a couple of legit guys enroute to Shields or whoever, i’d say slow down on the GSP vs Woodley train.

All I will say is that Quadros knows who signs his check .
Some people think I am a dumb, ugly human being, but really I am a beautiful ape, with exceptional verbal skills.

Could possibly maybe if this and this and that happens
Sure.
But let’s wait until Woodley beats a fighter with their own goddamn wikipedia page before we match him up against one of the GOATs. Please.
This reminds me a lame sherdog thread.
I think everyone, including Quadros, WAS waiting.

No they weren't
“Georges St. Pierre vs. Tyron Woodley”
His very words. Now it doesn’t matter if they were saying wait a year, they were still floating the idea of GSP vs Woodley waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too soon. Far too soon before it is wise to do such a thing.
Shocking
That Zach Light has no wiki page

When he fought my buddy, all I could look at were the size of his forearms while I was shaking his hand. It looks like someone sewed a softball inside his skin. Standing next to him though, I really think 155 is where he needs to be.
WTF? Woodley cuts from around 195 to be able to fight at 170.
I don’t see why Woodley would be a stretch for GSP.
He’s got:
A+ wrestling.
B+ BJJ
B+ Striking
and is every bit as quick as any WW. He will be a tough match up for anyone anywhere at any weight.

Not to sound like a dick, but it’s kind of douchey to say that in a post you wrote yourself
We're just a million little gods causin' rain storms, turning every good thing to rust.
Agreed – but since no one else is going to write the post hyping my interview and using “I” is equally sucky, 3rd person wins…
