Lawler v. Prangley
I was cool with this fight until I heard that Strikeforce had signed Melvin Manhoef.
It’s still fine, but it leaves me wanting.

That's EXACTLY what I thought
when I read that article about the revisiting of Manhoef/ Cyborg, and they mentioned he signed w/ Strikeforce, I just thought to myself- “I WANT THAT”.

I really want to see the Travers vs Nakamura fight. Hmm…Must figure out a way how the fans can see it. =)
wont happen… unless showtime changes their policy about shooting the undercards.

Get Mike Whitehead out of there (sorry King Mo) and put Britt v. Lighty on the main card.

Not a Strikeforce fan overall, but this is an excellent card. I am very excited. Every fight is interesting. If Melvin was on this card, it would be Strikeforces best card in a long time, maybe ever.
Lawlor vs Manhoef will come soon enough!
=)
You can say that the CBS event was their best ever, and this compares to that. From now on, Strikeforce will have pretty big events on Showtime and CBS, if all goes accordingly. The Challenger series will feature prospects and fighters looking to get back on track.
Out of Curiosity....
Who thinks Manhoef would starch Lawler if they fought? I don’t think Lawler could take him down fast enough and Manhoef would pistol whip him inside of 2 minutes. Thoughts?
Yeah sometimes I think people forget how fragile Manhoef’s chin has been at times because he’s such an explosive puncher and I don’t think people realize just how hard a puncher Lawler is.
That fight has to happen down the road.

On the flip side
Lawler doesn’t exactly have an iron jaw, himself. He’s shown (against Nick Diaz) that he can get switched off

And i'd like to add
if Lawler were fighting in pure kickboxing, at the level Manhoef is, he would get KO’d just as much (IMO). You just can’t fight as aggressively as these guys do without getting caught sometimes

I was referring more to Melvin getting KO’d by Dirty Bob and Rodney Glunder in MMA since the gloves are so much smaller than his kickboxing fights and the Diaz KO of Lawler was the definition of a flash knockdown.
Robbie was up on his feet as fast as he was knocked down and seeing Lawler take punches from Scott Smith in their two fights tells me that was more of a fluke than anything else.
