An announcement of the match-up is expected for the Showtime telecast of Strikeforce: Evolution on Saturday evening in San Jose, Calif., according to sources close to the situation.

Huge Fight...
Thought they were going to save this fight, but I guess they want a BIG fight to crown their WW champ.

Wow
Love this matchup. Fireworks all over it. But i think Diaz might take this one will definetely show the massive size difference between the two. Love to see Marius pull out a Fourth Straight Head Kick KO. That would be awesome.
I thought about it...
But they weren’t too pleased with the JT Money fight, so, it would be great to set up a #1 WW contender since the winner will need to defend fairly soon.

They should strip Jake Shields, cause they weren’t to pleased with his performance against Mayhem.

That’s pretty much the same as matching him up with Dan Hendo.

Sick fight
In the meantime, put Hieron/ Riggs together for the next title shot. I know Jay was promised a title shot, but to be honest (at least in terms of quality wins recently), he’s no more deserving than Zaromskis or Diesel.
Supporting all Las Vegas MMA. Xtreme Couture FTMFW.
'09 is the year of the FW's.
Galvao, Woodley, and a few other WW’s would probably like to get involved as well, but yeah, definitely set up a #1 WW contender with Hieron.

Just Heard..
On Showtime that Robbie Lawler and Melvin Manhoef may be on the Strikeforce Jan. 30th show. I guess we will get more info on this during tomorrows event. No mention if they would be fighting each other.
where are you getting your stuff from?

For Strikeforce: Miami we have:
Welterweight Championship bout: Nick Diaz vs. Marius Zaromskis
Women’s Lightweight Championship bout: Cristiane Santos vs. Marloes Coenen
Herschel Walker vs. TBA
Jay Hieron vs. TBA (hoping Riggs for #1 contender)
Bobby Lashley vs. Del Rosario
Also there are rumors of
Robbie Lawlor vs Melvin Manhoef
Vitor Ribeiro vs ?
KJ Noons vs ? (hope they would have Shaolin vs King James)
Werdum vs Arlovski
Monson at LHW
why not just book a card for Feb. or March with all the extra fights?
It’s obvious they will put only 5 good fights and the poor undercard like they always do. Some of the rumoured fights will not happeng on this show.

That's obvious
That is why I am asking if they will book an extra event in Feb. or will we have to wait longer to see Vitor, Noons, Arlovski, etc.
They will have a Challengers card on Jan 23rd. No cards on February due to the Olympics.

Werdum vs Arlovski
Monson at LHW
These are not rumored for the Miami show. Werdum vs Arlovski was for April. Also, haven’t heard anything from Hieron in a while.
