Logan Stanton categorizes her dismissal as "very unprofessional":

"I was like, 'Wait, what? Are you breaking up with me?,'" Stanton said jokingly. "It totally took me by surprise. Natasha actually texted me a little bit before I got the phone call. She was like, 'The UFC just dropped me,' and I was like, 'What? Why?'"...

"I was kind of in shock at the time. I even said, 'Ok, thank you. Bye.' I was lame. I just said thanks. I really didn't know what to say to him. I was kind of upset for a minute. I teared up. And after that, I just became a little angry."

... "I kind of think they (the UFC) don't hold any loyalty to anybody. Just to come straight up with nothing leading up to it? They didn't give me any warning; they didn't tell me why."

Holy crap. Getting fired is bad in itself but doing it like that? Why not go the whole WCW route and do it by FedEx? Have some fricking decency, whoever thought this one up.

If they treat their fighters like this, I’m surpirsed nobody has gotten their face bashed in.

Over the phone?

I bet Joe Silva does do that. Though I’m sure he gives a reason to the fighters.

I love how the big story going into a weekend with both Strikeforce and WEC events is the firing of two UFC ring girls. The site would crash if Arianny was ever let go.

by lascreenwriter on Dec 18, 2009 3:53 PM EST reply actions

Not if it was for a valid reason

Like if Arianny beat up some fan. Or if she beat up some lightweight fighter. Or if she’s been causing all the UFC 108 injuries.

To be clear, Logan did NOT get fired. Her contract expired and Zuffa chose not to renew it.

Natasha OTOH, got kicked to the curb.

Are you replying to the wrong portion of the thread? The guy pointed out that Logan’s contract lapsed. That’s a totally indifferent fact.

Did anyone else find the two strange at the 107 weigh-ins and the live show? Constantly giggling, making strange faces. Probably didn’t help that they gave actual critiques of the fights they watch when asked by swarmy reporters (The biggest one being insisting Koscheck was faking the eye poke).

But texting and shit during the fight is mad disrespectful. That’d be like me going in a meeting and texting/ giggling while someone is giving a presentation. Eye candy or not you are still representing your sport. People already think fighting is juvenile and immature…

The big deal will be who they replace them with, hot models come and go but a loss of quality eye candy at the hot number carrying position would be something to get upset about.

Yeah I don’t understand what the big news is. It’s not like Dana has this storied record of professionalism. The considerate thing would’ve been to tell them why, but hey, maybe they thought it was nicest to just not tell them (’we’re worried that you look like a young effeminate boy’ etc).

by Dooda on Dec 18, 2009 7:32 PM EST up reply actions

I’m not. It’s weird sure, but we have no idea what goes on behind the scenes at the UFC and these ladies are just non-fighter UFC employees. We don’t know why they fire lots of people, I think we just get used to knowing b/c when it’s a fighter, we can pretty much figure it out.

Were they not just messing around because so many of the fighters on the 107 card had to go behind the towel to make weight? Even Joe Rogan was messing around making silly comments about it being penis night or something along with commenting on the fact that both Logan and Natasha were getting a show/having to turn away or whatever. Obviously he was kidding around but surely its going to evoke a reaction like the one above?

Logan was def the hottest one. NO disrespect to Arianny. (The two look like sisters). The giggling all started at the weigh ins when that techno came on in the beginning and Rogan started to do a goofy face and dance to make em laugh. And watch Dana, he’s always laughing and talking during weigh ins. Also, anyone notice after joe announced one of the Fertitas, he came out to the stage texting on his phone not once lifting his head.(yeah yeah, the owners can do whatever they want, i get it) Literally he didn’t even acknowledge the crowd. Ring girls texting to me seems fine. Owners who have secretaries for that stuff, not so much. Practice what you preach bigwigs.

by MBreezy on Dec 18, 2009 4:37 PM EST reply actions

That is the real world

like it or not. Not just the UFC almost any company in America the owners and president can get away with things a normal employee couldnt.

Nobody on here knows why they got fired but everybody loves to speculate. Could it be an Arianny power play or did the giggling really cost them their job. Who knows.

Maybe they did a screening like they do for movies to see what people like or dislike and Natasha and Logan got bad scores. It could be any amount of things.

Hell Edith got fired for supposedly “getting drunk” the night before 100 and calling in sick but I’m sure if you ask her she’ll say she had “food poisioning”.

by Neil Manich on Dec 19, 2009 12:31 AM EST up reply actions

This isn’t like it was them losing a real job, they are models who had a gig carrying numbers once or twice a month. Model’s get and lose modeling jobs all the time and these two girls are hot enough and famous enough that they won’t have any trouble at all finding more work, heck I’m sure this wasn’t their only gig currently. Lets not act like these two just got laid off from the only steel mill in town and have no way to feed their families, they don’t write weepy pop anthems about the plight of hot models in America.

this is really weird. I was thinking that it coulda been due to showing fighter bias; you could see Logan standing up and cheering for BJ during the main event. But then I realized past ring girls such as Rachelle showed bias too, so that can’t be it.

That sucks.

As a general rule I think employers should give a specific reason/cause for termination to the [former] employee as a matter of professionalism. Mostly because if they know why they were fired they can improve themselves and perform better in the future. It’s the courteous thing to do in situations like this.

At the same time, I don’t think Joe Silva needed to tell Josh Neer “Stop losing and learn to stay on your feet!” We all kinda knew that.
