Logan Stanton categorizes her dismissal as "very unprofessional":
"I was like, 'Wait, what? Are you breaking up with me?,'" Stanton said jokingly. "It totally took me by surprise. Natasha actually texted me a little bit before I got the phone call. She was like, 'The UFC just dropped me,' and I was like, 'What? Why?'"...
"I was kind of in shock at the time. I even said, 'Ok, thank you. Bye.' I was lame. I just said thanks. I really didn't know what to say to him. I was kind of upset for a minute. I teared up. And after that, I just became a little angry."
... "I kind of think they (the UFC) don't hold any loyalty to anybody. Just to come straight up with nothing leading up to it? They didn't give me any warning; they didn't tell me why."

I categorize their dismissal as "very depressing"
C’mon Dana, just bring them back please..

Holy crap. Getting fired is bad in itself but doing it like that? Why not go the whole WCW route and do it by FedEx? Have some fricking decency, whoever thought this one up.
If they treat their fighters like this, I’m surpirsed nobody has gotten their face bashed in.

Over the phone?
I bet Joe Silva does do that. Though I’m sure he gives a reason to the fighters.
I love how the big story going into a weekend with both Strikeforce and WEC events is the firing of two UFC ring girls. The site would crash if Arianny was ever let go.
Not if it was for a valid reason
Like if Arianny beat up some fan. Or if she beat up some lightweight fighter. Or if she’s been causing all the UFC 108 injuries.

Most people wouldn't mind taking Greg Jackson's advice in that situation, though.

Perhaps Dana should take up Chuck's "Iceman" nickname.
Cause that was cold as ice…
I love me some Sexyama!
To be clear, Logan did NOT get fired. Her contract expired and Zuffa chose not to renew it.
Natasha OTOH, got kicked to the curb.
He's not defending
but no matter what the circumstance is, it’s always a good idea to make sure the true facts are being circulated
True
I just dont feel the need to further crucify the two. Does it really matter (in this case) how we lost them?
I am. I think. I will. - Ayn Rand
Crucify?
Are you replying to the wrong portion of the thread? The guy pointed out that Logan’s contract lapsed. That’s a totally indifferent fact.

Hahaha
That’s not defending anything, that’s purely factual.

Is anyone really that upset by this?
I mean I can only speak for myself but I’m tuning in to watch the fights. Hot girls help but hell if I’m gonna pay 60 bucks to see girls it would have to be in person and with no clothes on.
Besides this isnt the first ring girl we’ve “lost” and in my opinion Rachelle Leah and Ali Sonoma were both hotter than these 2 and at least we keep Arianny.
Now dont get me wrong both girls were pretty but I just dont think its as big of a deal as some make it out to be.

Plus
Did anyone else find the two strange at the 107 weigh-ins and the live show? Constantly giggling, making strange faces. Probably didn’t help that they gave actual critiques of the fights they watch when asked by swarmy reporters (The biggest one being insisting Koscheck was faking the eye poke).
Good call.
I think the unprofessional ones in this whole thing are the ones who were fired.

If they are going to fire people because they were unprofessional
Dana should have been long gone. Not hating on him, i just don’t see why we need to burden these two.
I am. I think. I will. - Ayn Rand
My apologies..
If im coming out as a Zuffa/Dana hater ’coz im not.
I just dont see why we have to be politically right in the midst of losing Logan & Natasha. They seemed to be perfect ring girls

In all fairness, acting tougher than you are, telling every critic to go f*** him/herself and generally working an f-bomb into every sentence isn’t all that hard. I bet a lot of people could do that.
Oh, so that’s not Dana’s actual job? Hmm. Maybe he should stick to doing that instead of acting like an ass.
by Monday Morning Martial Artist on Dec 19, 2009 4:21 AM EST up reply actions
wow
so Dana has done nothing for the sport then? Gotcha.
"Maybe Mur is going through menopause and is retaining water"---Ubernoober
I’m not upset about this at all, but can’t help wondering what your criteria for professionalism is, when the job is to be hot and not fall down.

You know their uniform is a bikini right? Them laughing and smiling and having a good time is part of their job. Nobody likes eye candy that sits stone faced.
by Neil Manich on Dec 19, 2009 12:33 AM EST up reply actions
Yeah
But texting and shit during the fight is mad disrespectful. That’d be like me going in a meeting and texting/ giggling while someone is giving a presentation. Eye candy or not you are still representing your sport. People already think fighting is juvenile and immature…
by HappyLittleTreez on Dec 19, 2009 8:51 AM EST up reply actions
The big deal will be who they replace them with, hot models come and go but a loss of quality eye candy at the hot number carrying position would be something to get upset about.
honestly?
no. i dont really give a fuck. i mean, it’s a terrible time to lose your job and that’s sad but the ufc is a fight organization and I don’t think they were kicked for no reason.
by cagefightonacid on Dec 18, 2009 5:25 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
I’m not. It’s weird sure, but we have no idea what goes on behind the scenes at the UFC and these ladies are just non-fighter UFC employees. We don’t know why they fire lots of people, I think we just get used to knowing b/c when it’s a fighter, we can pretty much figure it out.
"A champion is someone who gets up when he can't." - Jack Dempsey
Were they not just messing around because so many of the fighters on the 107 card had to go behind the towel to make weight? Even Joe Rogan was messing around making silly comments about it being penis night or something along with commenting on the fact that both Logan and Natasha were getting a show/having to turn away or whatever. Obviously he was kidding around but surely its going to evoke a reaction like the one above?

bummer
Ill miss both of them… Don’t really see many replacing them that can be a step up…

Logan was def the hottest one. NO disrespect to Arianny. (The two look like sisters). The giggling all started at the weigh ins when that techno came on in the beginning and Rogan started to do a goofy face and dance to make em laugh. And watch Dana, he’s always laughing and talking during weigh ins. Also, anyone notice after joe announced one of the Fertitas, he came out to the stage texting on his phone not once lifting his head.(yeah yeah, the owners can do whatever they want, i get it) Literally he didn’t even acknowledge the crowd. Ring girls texting to me seems fine. Owners who have secretaries for that stuff, not so much. Practice what you preach bigwigs.
That is the real world
like it or not. Not just the UFC almost any company in America the owners and president can get away with things a normal employee couldnt.
Nobody on here knows why they got fired but everybody loves to speculate. Could it be an Arianny power play or did the giggling really cost them their job. Who knows.
Maybe they did a screening like they do for movies to see what people like or dislike and Natasha and Logan got bad scores. It could be any amount of things.
Hell Edith got fired for supposedly “getting drunk” the night before 100 and calling in sick but I’m sure if you ask her she’ll say she had “food poisioning”.
Dudes, people lose their jobs every day.
We don’t get an uproar for any of those people. This chicks now have celebrity status to a certain extent. I wish them the best I’m sure they will be fine.
J mackin Roe 623
When somebody I know loses their job I do feel for them. When I hear about somebody losing their job I do feel for them. I’m not calling for a boycott, but it does suck. Especially considering it seemed like they were doing a good job.
by Neil Manich on Dec 19, 2009 12:31 AM EST up reply actions
This isn’t like it was them losing a real job, they are models who had a gig carrying numbers once or twice a month. Model’s get and lose modeling jobs all the time and these two girls are hot enough and famous enough that they won’t have any trouble at all finding more work, heck I’m sure this wasn’t their only gig currently. Lets not act like these two just got laid off from the only steel mill in town and have no way to feed their families, they don’t write weepy pop anthems about the plight of hot models in America.
this is really weird. I was thinking that it coulda been due to showing fighter bias; you could see Logan standing up and cheering for BJ during the main event. But then I realized past ring girls such as Rachelle showed bias too, so that can’t be it.
Strange, and sad. Don’t really care about Natasha tho, ahah.

What's unprofessional about it?
Lots of people get fired without being given a reason. It’s how the real world works.
Real World
Seems to be the term used when something sucks but the speaker feels like they can’t change it and no one else should speak up.

In Vegas, they can fire you for any reason
by The Bronzeville Bully on Dec 18, 2009 6:04 PM EST up reply actions
depends where.
I know that in Maine they can fire you whenever they want, for whatever reason they want.
I think it's probably like that just about everywhere
as long as it isn’t for a discriminatory reason, they can fire you for looking at the boss wrong. No reason is required.
"Maybe Mur is going through menopause and is retaining water"---Ubernoober
Since they’re hired as models you actually could fire them for what some people would view as, “discriminatory reasons.” Like getting fat.
'Ello G'vnor!
That sucks.
As a general rule I think employers should give a specific reason/cause for termination to the [former] employee as a matter of professionalism. Mostly because if they know why they were fired they can improve themselves and perform better in the future. It’s the courteous thing to do in situations like this.
At the same time, I don’t think Joe Silva needed to tell Josh Neer “Stop losing and learn to stay on your feet!” We all kinda knew that.

REC'D
for someone finally hitting the nail on the head. It’s not like the UFC is going to be without hot ring girls, there is probably a line up a Zuffa’s head quarters at this very moment. There will be new eye candy boys, don’t worry.
What I don't understand
are the posts talking about how tragic this is and that the girls are being crucified. If you liked Logan, fine, great…..most of us would not turn her away. But to act like these two are getting the raw end of the deal and are going to be eating Ramen noodles and living in a card board box is just stupid.
On with the next subject please

My guess is the UFC will do some retarded Maxim ring girl contest
or some stupid shit like that. They’ll team up with Maxim or GQ or some shit and start a “hometown hotties” type contest for chicks to be UFC ring girls. Just a way to try to get more people (including hot chicks) into MMA.

It’s young males discussing hot chicks, of course it’s getting attention. The surprise is that there is such over the top serious discussion like this actually means anything. Models come and go all the time and these girls will have no problem getting work, heck Natasha Wicks is a golf caddy that charges $400 a game I really doubt she’s off the get food stamps now that she has lost her gig carrying numbers once a month. At least in the last article on this there were hot pictures.
The first post was fun – lots of dirty jokes and pin-up pics all-around.
The talk, though, about how the UFC is awful, terrible, no-good bosses over this is strange.

I suppose that this would be a good time to push my idea called “The Ultimate Ringirl”
16 girls in a house in a tournament where they have to pillowfight and jello-wrassle to become “The Ultimate Ringirl”.
The winner will go on to have a 6-figure contract with the UFC, but all the internet weenies will go on and on about how the ring girls in Pride were always better, and even if the Pride girls lose to the UFC girls they will argue that it’s a fluke.

Guarantee you the UFC will do the "Ultimate UFC TV Ring Girl Contest. ON SPIKE!!!"
Will garner them a bunch of attention from little MTV wanna-be bitches and douches. Find an even wider audience. Smart move.
Logan and Natasha are gonna be pretty pissed off about that.

I feel sorry for Ari
What if she has to carry the signs for ALL the rounds of an entire show.
Is that even humanly possible?
It's better for them , really
How long can they keep this kind of job , untill they’re 30 ? At some point they don’t look young enough and some hotter chick will come along , tho they’ll still be only fucking 30 . Maybe now they have time to find a real job . This is a job a lot of hot chick will want , the competition is fierce and some of them probably wouldn’t mind visiting a few beds to land this job .
So I hope these girls can find something better …and if not , at least they’ll try.
The UFC blows ………. I’d rather watch the lower tier org’s promotions than the Ultimate Farce Crap …….. UFC needs new owners as well as all the management …… a complete restructuring …….. if we all could just stop buying their crap then this could be achieved.
