Kind of suprised by the Le/Smith line

I know his style matches up perfectly against Cung but I give Smith more of a chance than that.

After seeing Scott Smith get punched in the head hundreds of times by Nick Diaz within one round, I have a feeling that Cung ( a much better striker) will just completely destroy Scott Smith standing.

for all intents and purposes, just consider all my posts as works of satire.

by Bandaka on Dec 17, 2009 11:15 AM EST up reply actions

Haha, yeah that's true.

Maybe I’m giving Scott Smith to much credit. Anyhow, I’m predicting a body kick KO for Cung.

by HappyLittleTreez on Dec 17, 2009 11:19 AM EST up reply actions

Body kick by Le, Smith doubles over hurt, Le goes in for the kill and BAM! Le out cold… Do you think lightening could strike twice for Smith?

by swells2048 on Dec 17, 2009 1:03 PM EST up reply actions

It really is possible. He should absorb a body kick, fake hurt, and do exactly what he did against Sell. I don’t see how else he gets his hands on Le.

The key for Smith is to counter the kicks and use his boxing.

king mo’s line seems pretty high as well whiteheads a gatekeeper in SF at best but whos king mo ever beaten to deserve -600? hes mostly hype as of now and has alot of proving to do

by milk72 on Dec 17, 2009 11:19 AM EST reply actions

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Mo’s obviously the favorite, but that’s a lopsided line.

Holy hell.

That’s really lopsided for what is really a pretty stiff test for Mo. I’d make a small play on Whitehead.

I’m really hoping Whitehead finds a way to win this fight. I just find “King” to be obnoxious every time he’s on a radio show or podcast, which seems to be every week.

That being said, this is the only fight on the card I really want to see.

Isn't Travers off this card?

I thought I read he was replaced by Justin Wilcox

Hell, I am thinking a Whitehead, Smith, and Lindland parlay is worth a small bet, no? Just $20 on Lindland and Smith alone would yield $200+ and that doesn’t include the +400 line on Whitehead!

Warning: sarcasm ahead.

Sounds like my Diego, Guida, Funch parlay for 107. I bet my dignity, the return was dismissive chuckles.

Really… I’d put $10-20 straight bet on Whitehead. He has the skills to win, and +400 is insane for this fight. I’d take him as low as half that. We’ve seen enough of both Le and Smith to know the likely outcome of this fight. Puncher’s chance vs. a world class Sanshou champion is not much of a chance at all. I think that a Le-Melendez-Jacare parlay is the best bet you can make with a small play on Whitehead.

by pdl on Dec 17, 2009 1:46 PM EST up reply actions

Takeya-Yahya-Njokuani is a solid parlay in my mind.

Actually, the WEC odds are way more valuable. Massouh is only a -175, and Micklewright might be a ripe underdog pick. Hell, even Pettis at -200 is decent.
