Thought that was funny but I have 2 questions

Does the UFC own the word Octagon when used to describe an MMA fighting area?
Is another organization even allowed to use an 8-sided cage?

My understanding is that they have a trademark on “Octagon” but they allow other promotions to use the design in the interest of uniformity and making it a ‘standard’. The WEC doesn’t even call their cage an octagon (and it’s also smaller).

DREAM used a hexagon for their first show with a cage, but I think the more acute angles might make it easier to get cornered in a manner similar to a boxing ring.

I don’t know, I have this gut feeling that Smith is gonna take this fight. I know technically he isn’t in Le’s league. But something tells me he gets in and delivers the KO blow!
