how shitty would it be if this card became cursed?

I bet Cung Le will step up! It would be a step down in competition from the awesome Scott Smith, but still..

On a more serious note: Wonder if Nick Diaz could get his system flushed???

They should get Joe Riggs. He’s in shape having fought twice in the past week and a half and is under contract already.

Gonna be hard to find someone on a week’s notice. Melvin manhoef or tim Kennedy if possible. Or Tyrone woodley.

Woodley is a welterweight

and although he’s making waves, he’s not ready for Lawler yet.

Kennedy would be a great option if he can be ready on such short notice.

Woodley may not be “ready” for him yet, but imagine what it would do for this kid’s career if he fought Lawler at a catchweght and was able to beat him? If he loses, it doesn’t matter, he was fighting outside his weight class against a former MW champ. No downside for him. And someone needs to step up. I doubt and big name MW’s are gonna step up and fight Lawler on 1 week’s notice.

Cancel it…save Lawler for the January card and move Antwain Britt/Scott Lighty to the main card. Why waste one of your “stars” on a last minute replacement?

I second this motion

Was going to recommend the same thing.

He hasn’t fought in 6 months. He probably wants to get paid before Christmas.

It’s my understanding they have to keep him on the card per his contract. If not, they’d have to pay him even though he’s not fighting.

This fight was on UFC 108?

Prangely looks a lot like Josh Barnett

Excellent idea. Cyborg vs Lawler would be GREAT!

I did hear Manhoef’s name being mentioned, though I don’t know if this would have enough behind it to keep him from the NYE event.

for a second there

i thought that was Josh Barnett

Imagine preparing to fight Prangley, and less than a week before the fight your opponent is changed to Manhoef. Robbie’s going to be having nightmares.
