lemme rephrase as that came out bad and I'm tired..

Its still a partial card, there is supposed to be something like 19 – 20 fights announced eventually. If they count the Koshien fights that leaves a few spots open and guys like Sakuraba unaccounted for, technically.

YUP

We are still waiting on the official K-1 fights and what’s up with Gomi, Saku, Kawa, and Aoki.
Though, I fear Aoki won’t participate on this show for some reason.

The rumor is he won't.

He claims he has the flu right now and can’t train, but he has been offered winner of Josh/Melendez for a ‘unification bout’ and has had his heart set on the US for a while now. He wouldn’t want to risk giving that to Kawajiri.

by CSKit on Dec 15, 2009 2:02 AM EST up reply actions

I like the DREAM vs. SRC matches except for Overeem/Fujita…

AWESOME. Go Tokoro!

Alistair Overeem vs. Kazuyuki Fujita

Apparently Fujita was given a choice..

Between Jerome Le Banner and Overeem. It was his choice and he chose Overeem. He has balls, man.

For Alistair I just ignore it while whispering to myself “he will fight Fedor early next year”.

I wouldn’t bet money on that.

Yeah...

If they use that ridiculous 139 weight limit I will somehow find a way to throw a shoe through the internet at FEG executives…

by Tonley on Dec 15, 2009 6:28 AM EST up reply actions

The contracts are: 63kg for KID vs Kanehara and 64kg for Takaya vs Omigawa and Tokoro vs Sandro.

One would have to assume that this will be Alistair’s last fight in Japan until late 2010 right? I got a feeling he’ll have that “itch” to resume his K-1 career after his StrikeForce run.

Is it possible tha Gomi will be on the card?

Also, I like Fujita’s chances against Overeem considering that Fujita nearly KO’ed Fedor and how terrible Overeem looked when kickboxing Badri H. in k-1.

for all intents and purposes, just consider all my posts as works of satire.

by Bandaka on Dec 15, 2009 10:58 AM EST reply actions

Gomi was rumored to be fighting Kazuhisa Watanbe, haven’t heard anything about it in awhile. You like Fujita’s chances because he rocked Fedor six years ago, against a K-1 World Grand Prix Semi-Finalist?

by CSKit on Dec 15, 2009 11:15 AM EST up reply actions

I don’t know if its the massive steroid usage or what, but Overeem looked REALLY slow in his last K-1 fight! Fujita has great takedowns and heavy hands which work good against big-slow guys.

for all intents and purposes, just consider all my posts as works of satire.

KID looked tiny next to Kanehara! Hope KID destroys him!

Is it just me or does it seem like Yamamoto takes loooong layoffs between fights

for a Japanese-based fighter anyway. I know it was partly due to an injuries, but I gotta think the time off contributed greatly to the Warren loss

This is going to be the longest show ever.

I dislike Matt Hughes. Shogun beat him like a dirty horse.

I hear that. My girlfriend is going to kill me when i try to make her watch a 5+ hour show.

Yeah but i dont have HDnet or Strikeforce at my house. In addition to her 70+ inch HDTV.

I meant Showtime not strikeforce. Although thats one of the only reasons to have showtime.

by Rabbit915 on Dec 15, 2009 6:33 PM EST up reply actions

Showtime =Dexter, Dexter, Weeds, Californication, Boxing Tourney, Strikeforce.
=)
