Bloody Elbow Betting Game: Season Results

Bloody_elbow_full_season_total_medium

Full_season_winners_medium

The season is over and the period where our competition tries to string together cogency in an attempt to gloat has begun. We were out performed by MMA4Real in many areas, even though we had superb individuals who put to shame their highest achievements. The transition from this season to the next will be trying to make those individual performers many. The GED Gentry over at FightLinker performed ably and it is only through our early strong events, in which they were not yet competing, that we were as a season able to nudge them out. Our results, however, are more clearly out classed by the top of our division. And we should do well to focus ourselves on them, instead of middling around with the FightLinkers of the world.

Anyway, prizes go to the six shown above. Phantasma475 edges out Pooman by only 4 points on the season scoreboard. This nets Phantasma the signed Mauricio "Shogun" Rua Round 5 collectible and a Pride hat and leaves Pooman with just a Pride hat.Termin8r199 Gets a UFC 43/ 44 DVD pack.

For wagers, sandbox23 beats all with $72,943 in earnings and claims the UFC 100 t-shirt signed by 15 MMA notables and the Octagon photography book by Kevin Lynch. AlteredJerm takes in an unsigned UFC 100 t-shirt and some assorted things. This leaves !claw with a UFC 49/ 50 DVD pack.

Congratulations goes to everyone noted. If you have been so noted, contact me (info. on sidebar ->) and we can get your mailing details squared away. Thanks to everyone for playing. UFC 108 starts the next ten event season.

Note: For UFC 107: DuRuffio claimed our top honors with 88 points off correct fight predictions. That total is tied for 10th out of all who competed on MMA Playground for the event. AlteredJerm lead our wager portion with $9,707, earned mostly through a $5,000 Struve, Penn, Florian parlay. Congrats.

Gah, I would have been top 10 if I had just sat on the money I lost on Houston.

Similar story here

Hit two parlays early on and lost most of it in the last couple events. Though I pulled a small fantasy profit off of this last event.

If I enter and do badly, does that hurt the BE score?

What is considered good/bad? I do the UFC fantasy picks, so I have kind of know how I do. Although for the last 10 events, I did a terrible 49-49 for fight picks (mainly because of absolutely horrible picks at UFC 105 and 106). I didn’t have UFC 100, as I was on vacation that week and apparantly never did the picks.

Although on the rankings I was always inside the top 200, and hit 55 for UFC 103.

by Swordslasher on Dec 14, 2009 6:11 PM EST up reply actions

We are by far the biggest fight camp. So one person doesn’t make that big of a difference. Everyone needs to be better though. You can see we did 58.3% on our picks

Chase Gormley single-handedly took me out of the running. Was at the top til I lost 12,000 + parlay on him.

I think this is my favorite quote, Eugene:

“and the period where our competition tries to string together cogency in an attempt to gloat has begun.”

Good stuff, man. I do feel it’s worth pointing out that you did MUCH more gloating. The difference is that it was BEFORE your team had accomplished anything. What little gloating we did was after we had succeeded. Just messing with you, man. We’ve enjoyed it. We’ll have our focus on a rivalry with a site from our middleweight bracket next season but we’ll catch you guys again.
