kinda scary that he’s gained that much so fast – doesn’t sound healthy

It’s not that much, actually. Or indicative of an extreme, unhealthy cut.
Consider that he’s been eating low residue foods for the last few days and now his bowels and bladder are gorged.

168! YES!! YESS!@!! YES!!! YES!!

eats carbs

YES

On a side note I liked Diegos house or small training domicile, he is absolutely thinking the right way for a career fighter, eliminating all distraction except his goal and going for it.

As BJ said he is an overachiever, someone who got farther than he “should” have given his mental strength.

I think that is about as big of a credit as you can get as a mixed martial artist, it’s not a fluke, you didn’t get extra wins, you just got farther because you always believed in yourself and never gave up.

I’m pullin for Diego but BJ is obviously going to be a huge test.

%%

15 lbs water weight is only around 9 percent coming down from 170. Drying out 7-9 percent is not unusual. (assuming he gets into the cage around 170)

Weight cutting seems so goofy, but i guess it’s just the name of the game.

Pulling for Diego but… Well i’m just hoping for a good fight.

I guarantee you

that you’d get guys who would still cut the weight and dry themselves out. This way, although unhealthy and unsportsmanlike (IMO), is at least better than having dehydrated athletes out there fighting.

Hell, even if you had them weigh in before they stepped in the cage, you’d get guys who would hit the sauna and just chug water right before the fight.

unsportsmanlike? as long as both sides are following the same rules, I don’t get the issue with weight cutting; though unsportsmanlike is a weird phrase to use

so we should ignore the years of people coming in dehydrated when boxing used to do this and force fighters to do something unsafe so “they can fight where they belong.” Sweet.

You must love boring fights and no cardio. Big fan of TUF 10?

I just realised that with a win over Sanchez, Penn will have the record for most lightweight defenses. He’s currently tied with Pulver on two (Hallman and Penn).

And considering how many non-title bouts Gomi had, he’s probably got equal or more than him too…

Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.

best lightweight ever? Yeah, I’ll agree

Heres a trivia for you all. How many times has the UFC lightweight champ lost his belt to a contender?

13 pounds in a day? He must be on steroids…

He is definitely juicing.

I dislike Matt Hughes. Shogun beat him like a dirty horse.
