UFC Fan Expo, Mk II - May 28-29, 2010
Just announced a short while ago over on UFC.com, the second UFC Fan Expo will take place on May 28-29, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. For those who aren't au fait with diary dates, that's Memorial Day weekend (which I've always thought is an odd way to put it)
As rough around the edges as the first Fan Expo was, it was still a good experience for me and one I'd gladly look forward to attending again.
Naturally it helps that the Expo weekend will be anchored with a marquee UFC fight card - likely featuring the return of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, if rumours are to be believed - but I'd say it's way too far in the future to even speculate about what fights may be on this card. We've got two Vegas fights, Australia, New Jersey and Abu Dhabi happening before then so only time (and fighter injuries) will tell what's in store.
Anyways that's enough chatter. I'm off to see how much a room at the Mandalay costs for this weekend; perhaps I'll see some of you there?

From the press release:
This past July, the first-ever UFC Fan Expo took the sports world by storm, as fans celebrated the past, present, and future of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. So by popular demand, the UFC, in partnership with Reed Exhibitions, has announced that the second UFC Fan Expo will take place May 28-29, 2010, back in Las Vegas, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
The jam-packed two-day event, occurring during Memorial Day Weekend 2010, will provide fans with the opportunity to experience a number of special events, fighter appearances, autograph signings, and training & development sessions with elite fighters and industry leaders.
Over 200 leading companies are expected to exhibit, covering 200,000 gross square feet of space, and will feature apparel, electronic gaming, food & beverages, fight gear, fitness equipment and supplies, nutritional supplements, lifestyle products, and much more.
“I was blown away by the response to the first UFC Fan Expo. We have the greatest fans in the world,” said UFC President Dana White. “Our next Fan Expo is going to be another incredible event, we are taking it to the next level, and offering even more exciting ways to experience UFC.”
"We’re excited to be coming back to Vegas and next year’s event is going to be bigger and better than the first time around," said Ed Gallo, Event Director for UFC Fan Expo.

UFC.com was timing out on me so I couldn’t quote the press release or link to it in my own post :)

Damn, I wish the UFC would put up some money for a grappling match between Royler Gracie and Eddie Bravo. They should do something like $25K to the winner’s charity of choice.
Had forgot about the Montreal show, sorry!
So let’s see how we’re shaping up
108 on Jan 2nd, Vegas
109 on Feb 6th, Vegas
110 on Feb 20th, Sydney, Australia
111 on Mar 27th, Newark, NJ
112 is likely the Abu Dhabi show – the date I heard was April 17
113 on May 1st, Montreal, Canada
114 on May 29, Vegas
That’s seven marquee events in a five month period, with at least one of them being a title fight – and hopefully the return of Anderson Silva at 112.
