Donald Cerrone Talks Dropping to 145, Fighting Jose Aldo
Donald Cerrone talked to MMA Madness and he dropped this little gem:
"I’m going to call out Jose Aldo and drop down to 145. I’m really looking forward to that. I’m not running away from the 155 pound weight class. I’m going to stay at 155, but just also going to fight at 145."
Without knowing exactly how well Cerrone will be able to function at 145 this is still a great fight on paper. Knowing that Cerrone wants to drop to 145 and fight Aldo means that we have that potential fight to look forward to down the road along with the Aldo/Faber fight that is amazing on paper, and even an Aldo/Brown rematch is very interesting. Not to mention if a guy like Miguel Torres would be interested in going up in weight to seek out a fight with the champ.
As much as I've talked about wanting to see the guys from the WEC merged into the UFC it certainly isn't due to a lack of compelling match-ups. I just wish there were a better atmosphere for fights of major importance.

Cerrone doesn't look like he could afford to drop 10 pounds.
If he could though, that would be an absolutely amazing match up.
Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.

Forced to
Not gonna have anything left when 9MM spinning hook kicks his face off
I actually think Ratcliff has a decent chance if Cerrone just wants to stand with him.

How???
I remember Cerrone getting in trouble in 2007 for using a diuretic to make weight at 155 against Kenneth Alexander; I see him having a very hard time getting down to 145 if that’s even possible.
Though a fight between Cerrone and Aldo already has me salivating.
If Cerrone can make it, he might look like Hatsu Hioki who is a featherweight and around 5’10"-5’11"
i would rather see aldo go to 155 and get 2 belts in the WEC

methinks (and I’m a HUGE cerrone fan) that Aldo simply represent a better stylistic match-up than the guys with stronger wrestling bases in his current weight class. but hey, it’s about titles and it’s about profile…so do what’s you gotta do Cowboy. I’m up for watching ANYtime Cerrone fights. that guys is great on the feet and his matwork transitions are ridiculous.

I think Cerrone needs to worry about 9mm right now instead of dropping down to fight Aldo.

all he talks about are fights hes not currently training for.
First it was all that varner talk before he fought ben henderson. Now he’s gonna fight ratcliff and he’s not only still talking about varner and now he wants aldo too? Worry about who’s in front of you.

He’s the slowest guy I’ve ever seen fight at lightweight. Maybe he should learn to push the pace instead of running down to Aldo’s weight.
