Quote of the Day: BJ Penn Unfazed by Diego Sanchez's Antics
"I’m not here to criticize him or anything," he said. "But when I see that kind of thing, I don’t think much of it. He wants to portray himself as the crazy one; I think he’s just portraying himself as the weird one. And we’re gonna know which guy’s more crazy when we get into the Octagon."
...
"I think it’s going to play the part after I start shutting down his takedowns," said Penn. "When he realizes he doesn’t have that to go to, he’s gonna see a lot of punches coming really quick at him. It’s something I don’t think he’s prepared for."
-- UFC Lightweight Champion BJ "The Prodigy" Penn talking the stranger eccentricities of contender Diego Sanchez. The two will fight for Penn's title this weekend at UFC 107.

Diegos craziness went from awesome to awkward last night. “Fight me BJ….fight me HARD”

Diego is more funny than menacing.

He has always been like that.

I used to find Penn annoying but now I’m starting to like him …… seems like hes growing up
The Power of One
He’s not doing much trash talking towards Diego, nor is he coming off as cocky or arrogant for this fight. Penn was saying that he’s just having fun now, and has nothing to really prove.

More like he just proves it in the cage.

Both of these guys pump me up. BJ’s stare is dismisive yet intense and Diego’s is so intense that it’s bourderline metal illness. I am insanely pumped for this fight. I think Diego has more of a shot then most are giving him (including odds makers). I think BJ might have had some trouble getting up for this fight coming off two larger fights. This fight with Deigo might be the least important fight for him in two years and that worries me. Strait up, I am still picking BJ, but Diego looks good. I will wait until weighins to make the final call. See what BJ looks like, but it feels like a trap fight for BJ.
Some people think I am a dumb, ugly human being, but really I am a beautiful ape, with exceptional verbal skills.
Diego is weird.
Diego’s the one who licks people’s blood and charged out of the Octagon after a win like he just snorted 6 ounces of china white, right?
50% more Ultimate than the leading competitor.
Fighting and winning would give you that high type of feeling, maybe not for as long, but it has to feel great. Now I am pumped for this fight and I want to fight. Anyone want to take a fight at 135?

"Infinte energy forever"
Let’s talk about this again when Bj do a Yus! cartwheel and start saying half the weird shit diego says daily.
Seriously, Diego is 100% crazy.
"You talk too much, too much, too much..."
He is a MACHINE
Is he weird?? Yes. Talented fighter?? Hell yes. His two losses are the best thing that ever happened to him. Now he has become a better striker to go along with his relentless ground and pound. My only fear for Diego is that he is too confident in his wrestling where it plays right into BJ’s BJJ.. This turning out to be a great card..Quinton should leave more often!
i do wonder what it will be like if Diego finds himself being dominated…..he hasn’t faced the kind of adversity in the past that makes me worry if he finds himself getting overwhelmed by BJ (a likely scenario at some point as BJ seems to effortlessly switch gears in an instant and go from good position to finishing position very quickly).
