Fedor Emelianenko Rambles On and on
Derek Bolender of MMA Mania was able to catch up with heavyweight king Fedor Emelianenko who clarified how injured he was coming out of the Brett Rogers fight, when he starts training again, when his next fight will be, where it will be, and who he wants to fight in a tidy forty-four words:
Derek Bolender (MMAmania.com): There have been numerous reports about the injuries you sustained in the fight. How bad are the injuries to your hand and nose? What is the severity? Is either broken?
Fedor Emelianenko: No, nothing is broken. My thumb was dislocated and on my nose an old cut was opened again.
Derek Bolender (MMAmania.com): How long do you anticipate being out before you start to train again?
Fedor Emelianenko: I am already back in training but not so much. And next week I will go on a holiday.
Derek Bolender (MMAmania.com): Which month in 2010 will you be targeting for your next fight?
Fedor Emelianenko: I don't know.
Derek Bolender (MMAmania.com): Will your next fight be in the United States or in Japan?
Fedor Emelianenko: Probably the US.
Derek Bolender (MMAmania.com): Do you have a preference whether you fight Fabricio Werdum or Alistair Overeem next?
Fedor Emelianenko: No.
Of course there is much more to the interview which can be read over at MMA Mania, including Fedor's thoughts on fighting in the cage, his feelings on his performance against Rogers and much more.

I’d rather have this then Frank Mir’s 20 min. of explaining how he will beat someone.
Everyone has a game plan, untell they get hit.
How about Frank Mir’s 20 minutes of explaining how Miguel Torres will beat someone?
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
what about
20 minutes of Frank talking about periods…

For some reason
whenever I see your screen name, it makes me think of the 80’s glam band Falco singing ‘Rock Me Amadeus’

i think of Tom Hulce

your name reminds me of Paul Giamatti, because he played Pig Virus in Howard Stern’s Private Parts, and PV’s real name was Kevin Metheny.

All class...
Derek Bolender (MMAmania.com): Do you feel Alistair Overeem should be stripped of his Strikeforce heavyweight title at this time for failure to defend his belt since he originally won it back in November 2007?
Fedor Emelianenko: That is not for me to say.
Try telling that to the ducks.

In his defense
..not even a cyborg can resist duck confit.

I wish he would have given something more definate on whether or not he was injured or when hes going to be back. Hes “back in training” could mean he doesnt want to fight til next summer or he could be taking a fight in 2 months.

If Tito Ortiz said this...
It would have taken him 10,000 words…

Only a few dozen words, actually – words imply communication, and god knows Tito can’t do that.

A few dozen words
but repeated endlessly.
“I put my heart and soul into the fight.”
“I think I won.”

This
Exactly what I was gonna say. “I’d like to see another fighter do what I did, Forrest is a top 5 fighter, blah, blah, blah….”

Forrest is a top 5 fighter
Unless I feel like disrespecting his opponents, cause none of them were really very – Oh Anderson, well he’s someone I’d like to fight since I don’t even feel like I lost that blah blah blah.

Some real groundbreaking stuff in there
In other news, the sky is blue, the sun rose in the east this morning, and taxes are too high.
“Of course there is much more to the interview”
No, not really.
