Josh Barnett took the gold medal in the ultra-heavyweight (over 215 lbs) division of the No-Gi World Jiu Jitsu Championships held in Long Beach, California on Sunday. Barnett defeated Bruno Paulista in the gold medal match via judge's decision, and claimed his win as a victory for catch wrestling over BJJ:
"I’m the 2009 No-Gi BJJ World Champion. Thanks to all for the support and to my opponents as well. Catch Wrestling lives!"
