Snowden's piece ...
Incorrectly identifies both the location (Hoffman Estates, Illinois) and the name of the arena (the Sears Centre Arena) in the first sentence of his story. It truly is amazing how often those most critical of the MMA media get the absolute basics of journalism 101 wrong when it is their turn to do some work.

As a native of Chicago, I assure you that everyone who lives in “Hoffman Estates, Illinois” tells people they meet that they are from Chicago. Everyone. The event was in Chicago. The billboards we passed were in Chicago. The arena is home to the Chicago Bliss and the Chicago Slaughter….Come on.
Kid Nate better also be ashamed: http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2009/11/7/1121076/strikeforce-fedor-vs-rogers
“Fedor Emelianenko impressed a Chicago crowd by finishing a very game Brett Rogers in two rounds”
Luke Thomas too: http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2009/11/6/1119626/strikeforce-fedor-vs-rogers
“Sears Centre in Chicago, Illinois”
Oops, Kevin Iole is confused too!: http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news;_ylt=AjY5oXZrZBzV9g53u7X9X089Eo14?slug=ki-fedorwins110709&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
" In the city where Michael Jordan became a legend by performing his best when he was needed the most, Emelianenko did the same" Not sure Jordan became a legend in Hoffman Estates…pretty sure that was Chicago…
Not going to bother with hundreds of other examples.
I incorrectly identified the Sears Centre Arena as the Sears Arena? I made sure it was corrected. Thanks for the catch.
I wonder what you thought about the core of the story…the information imparted and the storytelling. Those are the lessons I remember from journalism 101.

This was a disproportianate reply. Thanks for making my story better. Of course, someone better tell Strikeforce their event wasn’t in Chicago…
“Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers 11/7/09 – Chicago, IL”

Uh, oh Steve Cofield!
“Andrei Arlovski and Brett Rogers don’t look or sound anything like each other. But if you listened to Arlovski back in January after his loss to Fedor Emelianenko and then Rogers last night in Chicago”

So other people being incorrect makes it OK for you to be incorrect, as well? Interesting approach to journalism.
