TUF 10: The Ultimate Fighter Live Discussion (Episode 8)

Well, Team Rampage is 0-7 and the UFC training facility needs a new door. Is there any reason to think Mr. T doesn't going 0-for-the-show?
He does have 6'18" Marcus Jones going for him tonight. Unfortunately, Jones also likes gardening, D'n'D, and gassing in practice. Yeesh.
Zak Jensen and Matt Mitrione both now have snap pools going on them. Jensen was recently named in a wrongful death suit. My question is: who had October 30th in the pool?
The biggest question at this point is what happens if Team Rampage has no fighters advance in the tournament. Who will coach Team Rashad's fighters? Will Ken Shamrock return and show Rampage how it's done?

Just heard that Nog/Velasquez is on for 108. No link, personally sourced. It was announced to the fighters at the summit.

I'll be back and forth between this...
and the WS. Not sure which is going to be more painful to have watched… guys gassing in the first round, or Chad Durbin’s pitching.
And there we go....

And Wessel made it to the second round with Hardonk
on like, 4 days notice no less. I’d say he has a decent chance
i think
and that is an overstatement, he would have alot of potential if he didn’t only have maybe 6 or at most 7 years to fight. That said, I really loved that slick armbar. But I dont even know if it was slick for a 35yr old. Someone help, i’ve lost it.
By the way, if you happen to see Marcus on the street, under no circumstances should you call him "Big Baby." He wants everyone to know his nickname is "The Darkness," but if I were you, I’d just call him Marcus. Ninety-five percent of fighter nicknames are lame and unnecessary. "The Darkness" is definitely one of those names.

Seriously, Marcus is probably the second coolest TUF contestant ever.
(Behind Mac Danzig, of course.)
I was thinking about comparing Marcus to Fedor for the difference between his demeanor outside the cage and his attitude inside.
Then he won with an armbar. Sweet.
in Rampage's defense...
It’s not a bad pick for him, and Rashad didn’t seem too happy about it.
But confidence in Rampage is a little surprising at this point in the season.

You gotta think Nelson feels this whole TUF deal is a bit below him, but he has to do it.
I wonder if Dana will give Roy a tough match up bc he dont like him, Roy vs Schaub or Marcus anyone?

I like that Team Rampage stuck with their coach. Despite some of the footage, I think Rampage cares for his guys and they clearly like him

I think if Kimbo was actually fighting next week they wouldn’t have any ambiguity about it. When he fought Roy that’s all the ads talked about.
Just to play into the hype a little, if Kimbo did replace Mitrione it wouldnt be on next week anyways. Nelson would still be fighting Wren. The fact they are bothering with the “KIMBO WILL RETURN” storyline over the “watch the man that beat Kimbo against the guy that choked out a ninja” is you know…slightly interesting.
But if it is still just posturing, the glue factory needs to call and demand their horse back.
This shirt is "dry clean only", which means it's dirty.
Okay…so I’m late to the party but how about that ground game?! I think Marcus might be one of my favorite fighters

Kimbo is fighting the city of Houston at the finale. Now I don’t know what the heck that Fertita was talking about when he said he was impressed with Kimbo’s performances. Oh well. Marcus can beat Fedor. You heard it here first.

I want Marcus to adopt me. I don’t care if he’s only 8 years older than me.
And I am very much burnt out on Rampage and Rashad’s jawing; Rampage is a prick and Rashad’s coming across more and more like a “holier than thou” snob.
Though I’d still train with Rashad’s team if I had the chance =P
"That feeling after you win and they raise your hand... it's like you have this energy that releases from your body, and it's like you mingle with the cosmos, and you feel omnipotent"
i love the way when rampage's team members get his team his only win and then the smack talk
gets started and he throws machida fight in rashad’s face. like rampage would not get his azz kicked by machida. lol.
by wolfmanshowlforever on Nov 5, 2009 2:17 AM EST up reply actions
Yeah...
Especially since even considering the taping delay (read: before 104) I still don’t think Rampage has the skillset to deal with a 100% on his game Machida. Shogun found one way to do it, Evans might have another way (has anyone ever actually taken down Machida by single or double-leg??), but Rampage… who knows?
Evans has NO way
Come on now, let’s not get too crazy here. I think Page would do a hell of a lot better than Rashad did
So u mean to say u don’t think Rampage would have one successful offensive attack on Machida and proceed to get knocked the hell out in 2 rounds by Machida’s first flurry eh? The Rampage I’ve seen the past few years would beg to differ
The Rampage I've seen
would let himself get body kicked over and over again. I could see a duplicate of a Tito vs Machida fight.
That may be a better anesthetic result to lose by decision but it means nothing. Page and Rashad should just fight.

Forrest Griffin was able to win a close decision against Page in a stand up fight.
Do I need to say more to explain why Rampage would get his ass whooped by Machida?

A delusional Rampage
Jardine has decent kicks and Page checked a few of them and the ones he didnt didnt seem to bother him much. All it takes is one quick punch and Machida could go hit the mat quicker than Wanderlei
Forest Griffin disagrees with you about leg kicks having no effect on Rampage.
"Why am I here? Why does my mind have wings? Why do blue midgets hit me with fish?!" - The Tick
Wanderlei beat Rampage when they were both in their prime. The third fight was not the best representation we have seen from Wand since Pride.
You cannot possibly think Rampage would spark Machida like that, it just would not happen as Lyoto does not wade in like that. I feel Rampage would suffer a quicker fate at the hands of the Dragon.
