Brett Rogers vs. Fedor Emelianenko

I have been a fan of Brett Rogers for a while now. After the Arlovski fight I was convinced he is a top notch fighter. Before that I thought he was fighting no name guys and beating them up. But after the 22 second destruction of the former champ, I devloped a man crush on Brett Rogers. He now joins Matthew McConaughey and Brad Pitt on my man crush list. By the way, Im not gay. So please avoid leaving gay bashing comments. But back to the point, Brett is the MMA fighter I have been rooting for. I know everyone has that one guy they root for.

So, when I heard that Brett will be facing Fedor I got a little nervous for the undefeated record. Fedor is an absolute beast. He is a veteran who knows how to win and has been quite use to doing so. Brett is still growing as a fighter. He has one win by submission and it was by punches. I will admit that Fedor is a better and more evolved MMA fighter and is the predicted winner of this fight.

If brett can keep the fight standing I believe he has a reasonable chance to win the fight. He has natrual knockout power in both hands. Brett has 5 in. height, 30 Lb. weight. and 7 In. reach advantage.. Fedor is most likely the best heavyweight fighter to ever live. He has a terrific ground game and still manages to knock people out. He is smaller, but, he has beat men larger than Brett in the past. Fedor has beat some of the best fighters from all corners of the world. Both Fedor and Brett are coming off wins against Andrei Arlovski. This fight will be a huge test for Brett Rogers. If he wins he will shock the world. I doubt he will win but anything can happen. If Fedor wins, It just shows that he still has it after nearly 10 months without a fight. This fight will be exciting to watch and I am so glad its free to watch.

He will probably have 40 lbs on Fedor come fight night. Rogers will most likely be one of the biggest guys Fedor has faced with punching power.

Zuluzinho’s record was 15-0, when he met Fedor, it was 15-1 after.. just like Rogers’ will be 10-1, come Saturday.

Yeah,

but Zuluzinho had never beat guys like Arlovski. Or anyone relevant, really

The Abongo Humphrey fight

I just watched the Abongo Humphrey fight again on Youtube as the Arlovski fight is difficult to use as a gague of Rogers in isolation. I think he’s surprisingly nimble for a guy so big, one negative from that fight is how easily Humphrey was able to push him backwards a couple of times considering theri relative size although to be fair Rogers did not look as if he was trying terribly hard to stop Humphrey. I do wonder, though, if Rogers power is not being overrated, based on the fights I have seen he would not be comprable to a puncher like a David Tua (sorry for the boxing comparison I wanted to pick a one-shot knockout heavweight) although it’s fair to say I have not been punched by either.

It sounds like Rogers has only recently started training full time. He may have some talent but he doesn’t have a great wrestling background or anything like that, on paper it seems like a huge mismatch.

If I were Dana White I would be making fun of this match more. But I guess he’s hoping that Brett Rogers will beat Fedor and then he can sign him or something.

Jake Shields is hot

Srsly tho, anyone who doesn’t think Brett is a serious threat to Fedor is delusional. This is a 280 lb dude who’s greatest asset (aside from the retarded amount of power he has in his hands) is his mental toughness. I mean honestly, the dude is just ready to go out there and throw the hands, no matter who it is he’s fighting. You don’t just overwhelm a tremendous fighter like Arlovski unless you’re legit.

Agreed...

But Fedor is well known for his toughness. That was his greatest assest growing up..He was small and not a great fighter. But he has will power and heart. I would shit my brains out if Brett knocked him out. But, Its highly doubtly
