UFC welterweight Matt Brown wants to be Renzo Gracie's warm-up fight:
"I actually called Joe Silva today asking for a fight, if I get the fight that I'm asking for it might be before that," Brown commented. "I called and I asked him for Renzo (Gracie) because he's coming and he needs a warm-up fight, so I was like I feel like I'd be a good warm-up fight."
"I've met Renzo a few times and I think he's one of the greatest guys in the world. I've trained at his gym a bunch of times. I've got absolutely nothing but respect for the guy. I think he's one of the greatest ever, but that's why I want to fight him," said Brown.
"He's a legend and he needs a warm-up fight. I'd love to fight a Matt Hughes (too), but he's not going to fight someone like me right now."

Hazelett might win in the stand-up
but as slick as his BJJ is, I think he would get schooled by Renzo on the ground. I still have memories of Dustin in his UFC debut, getting his arm wrenched into submission by Tony DeSouza.

Thank you!
Hazelett’s BJJ is good, but people seem to be confusing him with some sort of submission supergod.

Who doesn't love Matt Brown?
Giving Shogun his props. I had the fight 48-47 Machida but Shogun put up a monumental performance and I am honored to have seen it in person.
after that broken foot/ ktfo of that douche on TUF
i don’t think a single person. He is the MAN. war immortal.
I think that he should be asking for a step up in UFC competition to move himself up the ladder, but if he really wants this fight, who are we to question it?

Aw, you guys
lol I share the name. This fight may be his way to get that step up in comp, think about it. The Gracie name in a lower-risk, past his prime way. Fans see Brown beat a Gracie, more people will remember his name and his balls out style. It can lead to more money and better comp.
Welcome to the Machida Error.
